Xray have expanded their range of anti-roll bar wires for the XB8 series of buggies, trucks and cars by three front and two rear variants. Available for the front are the thin 1.6mm, 1.8mm and 2.0mm wires while the rear range is complemented by thin 1.8mm and 2.0mm variants. All are made using high-quality spring steel, they come laser-engraved for easy identification and fit the XB8 buggy, XT8 truck and GTX8 on-road kit.

Round 2 of the Asia Onroad Championship was held at the famous TRC circuit in Hong Kong. This time, for the sake of variety and the driver’s opinion, the organisers had decided to use the bigger GP track for the event. This was a much welcomed move, as it was very fun to drive as a result of its bigger size and high grip levels. Unfortunately, the event was struck by heavy rain showers throughout but the organisers were able to be flexible with the schedule, to allow drivers to get most of their runs in. The Touring Modified finals were rather eventful and ultimately it was Infinity’s Akio Sobue who walked away with the win from teammate Naoto Matsukura in 2nd and Xray’s Alexander Hagberg 3rd.
Creation Model have released a range of purpose designed balance weights for the Infinity IF14 electric touring car. A total of four options are available with a pair of left and right 10 gram each front weights, 5 gram each left and right rear weights and a centre weight in either 15 or 30 grams. The weights are easily mounted to the chassis using a single screw with an incorporated mounting pin to keep them locked in position. The design also features a minimal surface contact point between the weight and the chassis so as not to effect chassis flex.

Round 3 of the Czech Nitro On-road National Championships was held in Svitavy this past weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Oliver Havránek (Xray) who put his car on pole position for the A-main but the final was ultimately won by Michal Abrahámek (Xray) as Oliver ran out of tyres in the closing stages, but was able to secure the 2nd spot though. Sunday and race two saw Oliver in trouble as first an engine and then also a servo broke but he managed to get the bump-up spot to the A-main to start the race from P11. In the main final Oliver would soon move up the field and despite finding himself in the grass once, he was able to bring home the win from Michael Abrahámek 2nd and Michal Jansa (Serpent) in 3rd overall.
Following the introduction of the new Fleta ZX V2 modified motor, Muchmore now also present the Fleta ZX Sting V2 stock variant. The outlaw stock motor utilise short stack technology for greatly improved power output over conventional stock motors and it features a highly machined alloy can, 20 degree to 50 degree advanced timing, a lightweight aluminium end plate for further improved cooling as well as Grade 5 ball bearings and a strong aluminium mount for the sensor unit. A Neodymium magnet rotor with ZX balancing further enhances the overall performance of the motor that is soon available in 10.5T to 30.5T winding variants.
The Buggyland 4.0 1/8th off-road race will be held from the 15th to 17th of September at the CARTT Fuencarral track in Madrid, Spain. The 3-day event, widely known as the country’s season highlight, will see 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy racing, attracting Spain’s fastest drivers as well as many entries from abroad. This past weekend the third round of the 2017 Norwegian 1/10th Off-Road Buggy Nationals was hosted by the Innherred RC-Bil Klubb at the IHRC Raceway astroturf track in Levanger, Norway. After the initial shake down and instalment free practice Friday evening, Saturday was 2WD race day. Three rounds of qualifying were ran and it was Schumacher driver Roy Gjemble who took his Schumacher KC to the overall TQ position. Øystein Døler (Team Associated) qualified 2nd, Thorbjørn Døler (Team Associated) came in 3rd, and the young and talented 11-years old Alexander Gjemble (Team Associated) claimed 4th on the grid for the A-finals.

The Raco 2000 club in Utrecht, The Netherlands played host to round 3 of the RC-Lemans Series this past weekend. The weather forecast was pretty mixed with especially the practice on Saturday was washed away, so only a handful of drivers made use of their rain cars. Sunday started off very damp and with a mixture of rain cars or dry cars with very soft tyres the drivers tried to make maximum use of the opening qualifier. Peter Plümacher made the best out of the conditions as he took the win in the LMP1 opener from Tobias Weist and Reinder Wilms. The track though started to dry up soon and by the second qualifier it was Kai Altmann on top from Tobias and Reinder. Thanks to the points system both Peter and Kai already got their spots in the A-main and with the quickest run in Q3 Tobias would grab the pole position for the triple A-mains as he won the tie-breaker against Kai and Peter. Reinder’s P2 in the final qualifier secured him P4 on the grid followed by reigning LMP1 champ, Tim Altmann who suffered two DNFs while a P3 in the final qualifier won him the 5th overall position.
