SHRCCC & TORCH Summer Series – Announcement

The UK clubs Surrey & Hants and TORCH have announced that the club’s Summer series are going to be combined. There will be six rounds in total – three at each club and four out of the six to count towards the overall results. All drivers will get four rounds of qualifying and three rounds of finals in the 2WD, 4WD and Junior classes while there is also a buddy race championship throughout the series for a little bit of more relaxed racing fun. Marvin Fritschler wins at Messe Cup

The annual Messe Cup was held last weekend during a hobby fair in Bad Salzuflen, Germany. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was SOAR/Graupner driver Marvin Fritschler, reigning German national 1/8th Nitro and E-Buggy champion, who took the day’s win from Dutch racer Bart Mullink (Agama). Young Burak Kilic (Agama/Graupner) snatched the final podium spot from Sebastian Winterstein (Mugen). Agama/Graupner teammates Berkan Kilic and Yanic Grieger rounded out the top 5 result.

Ronald Völker & Jan Ratheisky win at GP3F

The annual Grand Prix des 3 Frontieres was held this past weekend in Longwy, France, with the usual mix of national talent and international pro drivers in attendance. In the Touring Modified class, with a total of 33 entries, Germany’s Ronald Völker soon made his intentions clear to bring home the win as he dominated the field from the first practice session on. The Yokomo driver would then sweep the qualifiers to grab the overall TQ from Viljami Kutvonen (Awesomatix) and Lucas Urbain (VBC Racing) who ended the qualifiers in second and third respectively.

Jason Nugroho wins at 6th annual MRCC Challenge

The 6th annual MRCC Challenge was held at the MRCC track in Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia with almost 60 drivers from Taiwan, Malaysia, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Batam, Bali, Palembang, Aceh and Medan in attendance. In the 60 minute main final Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) took the win, coming from the 2 spot on the grid. At first Jason tried to maintain the second spot but about 20 minutes into the race he was able to pass the leader and he never looked back from that moment on. Behind Jason, Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Reds Racing) ultimately grabbed the runner-up spot from third placed John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.).

Nico Schmid wins at Islikon OffRoad Masters Rd2

Round two of the Islikon OffRoad Masters saw Team Associated driver Nico Schmid bringing home the win in the 2WD Buggy class. Sven Zünd (Schumacher) snatched the runner-up spot from Patrick Hofer (Team Associated) who had to settle for third in front of team mate Florian Schmid.

2016 Euro Contest – Announcement

Bittydesign have announced the 2016 Euro Contest, held at the Barco-Off racetrack in Italy from June 17th to 19th. Situated around an hour’s drive from the Bologna airport the track offers a unique “US style” layout that will receive some big changes for the 2016 race. Entries for the 3-day event are limited to 192 drivers and the schedule sees free practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) followed by the superpole and finals on Sunday. The race is held in Nitro Pro and Open Buggy classes as well as an 1/8th E-Buggy category. More information and registration is available here.

Dmytro Chub doubles at Christmas Cup 2016

The 4th annual Christmas Cup was held in the Karavan Megastore shopping mall in Kyiv, Ukraine, one of the largest malls of the country. The event, in celebration of the orthodox Christmas, attracted around 9500 visitors and the four classes of 2WD Buggy, 4WD Buggy, Short Course and Buggy Stock 21.5T had a total of 88 entries. In the premier 2WD class Dmytro Chub (TLR) took the win from TQ holder Viktor Lytvynenko (Yokomo) who experienced mechanical problems in the finals. Oleksiy Shinkarenko (Xray) grabbed the final podium spot in third.

Team Associated B5MCE conversion kit

Available now from Team Associated is the limited edition B5M Champions Edition conversion for the standard B5M kit. Included are all parts to create the full-option CE buggy as are the gearbox, gear cover, motor plate, slipper hub and slipper pad, blue shielded bearings, flat front arms, front shock tower, rear ball stud mount, aluminium front axles, six blue titanium turnbuckles, 7mm offset clamping wheel hex with screws and pins, and heavy duty CVA axles. Also included are a JConcepts front wing, 30W/350cSt silicone shock fluid, and a set of FOX shock bodies with Kashima coat.
