AKA Slicks 1/10th buggy tyres

AKA is the latest company to introduce treadless slick tyres for 1/10th off-road buggies. Designed for maximum performance on high-grip, indoor clay tracks they are available in Clay compound only and compatible with the AKA Evo 2.4″ wheels or Hexlite 2.2″ wheels with the Evo conversion kit. Available as 2WD or 4WD front/rear pairs with red inserts, or 2WD/4WD rear pairs pre-mounted on Evo wheels.

Jarno Pijpers successful at Dutch Buggy Cup Rd5

The recent fifth round of the Dutch Buggy Cup saw an early end due to heavy rain pouring down on race day. The weekend started off with nice weather on Saturday but rain on Sunday only allowed for two qualification rounds until the organisers had to call it a day. This meant the results of the qualifiers had to be taken to announce the winner and so the victory went to Jarno Pijpers (Xray/FX) form Anno Storm (JQ/O.S.) and Kevin Cornelis (Xray/FX).

Capricorn have introduced the P3 ultra hot glow plug. The turbo-style plug will provide improved idling and better acceleration and it fits all off-road engines with a turbo-style combustion camber insert.

Italian company WRC have a new bodyshell for 1/10th formula pan cars available. The 2015 style body offers a revamped nose section to mimic this year’s Formula 1 cars. A contoured side pod design and a reshaped engine cover further add to the new look. As usual the body comes clear and it fits WRC’s current formula chassis as well as many other cars.

Samix more option parts for the Axial SCX-10 1/10th truck available in the form of aluminium front and rear shock mounting plates. Machined from high-quality material and coming in the four colours of green, black, gun metal and silver the parts offer 15 shock mounting positions each, allowing for more complex setup that the stock parts. Ricardo Monteiro wins at Portuguese Buggy Nats Rd4

Round 4 of this year’s Portuguese 1/8th Buggy Nationals saw Ricardo Monteiro taking the win from Carlos Duraes. Goncalo Melo rounded out the top 3 result while Ricardo is currently leading the national series from Carlos with one round to go, taking the championship decision to the final race.

5th annual BeNeLux Race – Report

5th annual BeNeLux Race – Report

The 5th edition of the BeNeLux Race was held at the MAC de Bannbrekers club in Rucphen in the four classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock, Formula and Pro10 Stock. The race started on Friday with free practice and resumed on Saturday with controlled practice and four rounds of qualifying. A last qualifier was held on Sunday morning followed by triple mains. After two days of nice weather the drivers were faced with wet conditions on Sunday morning and the final qualifier was declared a wet race. In the Touring Car Modified class Mitchell van Es took the TQ honours from Olivier Bultynck and Nick Joosens. In the Stock class Olivier Bultynck came out fastest from Geoffrey Vekemans and Athan de Witte while in the Formula category Jitse Miedema put his car on the pole position for the finals. Olivier Bultynck came in 2nd, Steve Deblaere put his car on the 3 spot. Finally in the Pro10 Stock class it was Reinder Willms who ended the qualifying on top of the timing sheets with Nick Boon and Joost Kuiper in tow.
