Coming from Tekno RC and made for their range of 1/8th and 1/10th off-road vehicles are the Full Option shock kits. Included are hard anodised, threaded shock bodies, TiNi-coated shock shafts, aluminium vented shock caps, cartridge caps, spring collars, and pivot balls, as well as delrin shock guides, the latest locking spring perch and captured shock boots.  Also included are bladders and necessary O-rings for silky smooth builds. The only things not included are the springs and pistons of your choice. Available are three different shock lengths of 107mm (SCT and 1/8th buggy front), 122mm (SCT and 1/8th buggy rear, 1/8th truck front) and 137mm (1/8th truck rear).

Hupo Hönigl wins Austrian E-Buggy Nationals Rd1

The opening round of the Austrian 1/8th E-Buggy National Championship was held at the MRC Oberaich club and despite adverse weather forecasts, 55 starters found their way to Styria. At the end the weather held up fine with almost an entire weekend of mostly sunshine and perfect conditions making for ideal conditions at this first ever 1/8th E-Buggy national event on Austrian soil. After six qualifying rounds Hupo Hönigl set TQ for the finals. In the sub-finals Martin Wollanka secured himself the pole position for the A-finals in which Hupo and Martin were in a league of their own. After the triple A-mains Hupo secured the day’s win just ahead of Martin.

Rasmussen doubles at Danish EP Off-road Series Rd1

The first round of the DRCMU Danish National Series was held at the RC Kongen hobby shop. Jonas Kaerup and Jesper Rasmussen set the early race pace. A hot and sunny race day on the large carpet track provided great conditions for all the drivers. It was a fantastic day to kickstart the outdoor summer racing and the start of the Danish Nationals. Jonas Kaerup was off to a flying start in qualifying and took TQ at his home track, just managing to hold off his junior teammate Jesper in qualifying. In the finals it was youth that prevailed and the more consistent Jesper Rasmussen took the victory in front of Jonas Kaerup.

Lucas Sanford wins at Pro-Line Champs Series Rd2

Heritage RC Park in Chula Vista, CA hosted round 2 of the Pro-Line Championship Series. Like round 1, round 2 had over 70 entries and the race format saw 7 minute qualifiers with the track being watered every other heat. The competition for this round would include J.D. Mora of LRP, TLR’s Don Vinkemulder, Mugen drivers Robert Wickham, Jaime Boquiren and Felipe Martinez, Darin Rogers of Tekno RC and some very fast local racers. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class Lucas Sanford would be on top of the game after taking the TQ for the 10-minute A-final. He got a great start into the main and pulled out to an early lead over the field. At the end of a flawless run Lucas came out successful in front of J.D. Mora and Darin Rogers.

The 1/18th scale range of iON vehicles from Maverick has been expanded with two brand new models in the form of the iON RX rallycross car and iON DT desert truck. The two new vehicles join the already available iON XB buggy, iON XT truck, iON MT monster truck and iON SC short course truck, which have also been updated with new paint designs, wheels, electronics and more. The new iON RX and iON DT kits share the same spare parts list as the existing models and also come with new top-spec features such as a Maverick Element 1200mAh Ni-MH battery, MTX-248 2.GHz radio and a 2-in-1 waterproof MSRS-248 receiver/speed controller. Also new for all the Maverick iON vehicles is a complete set of gold-coloured shock caps for the oil-filled shock absorbers.

JConcepts Ford Atlas scale bodyshell

Made for the Vaterra Ascender as well as Axial 1.9″ trucks is the new JConcepts Ford Atlas trail bodyshell. The look of the Atlas is unmistakable contemporary Built Ford Tough, with bulging wheel arches, a drop-down beltline at the front doors, and some of the biggest snarling grille nostrils ever seen on an F-150. The Atlas body is specifically built for the Vaterra and Axial 12-12.3″ wheelbase chassis, providing even more versatility to the platforms. Fitting bumper to bumper, the body has all the possible detail of its full-scale counterpart starting behind that oversized grille. Split headlight design with corner reveal turn signal points the Atlas in the right direction while edgy hood detail bulks around the wide-body fenders to provide plenty of clearance for an assortment of large 1.9″ tires. The extra cab look is defined by the recessed windows and the roof has a unique center channel and extruded touches emulating the roof-carrying system shown on the prototype Atlas vehicle.

Matrix have announced the re-signing of 24-years old Singaporean Nicholas Lee for the 2015 season. Qualifying on the 3 spot at the IFMAR Worlds in Bangkok the 1/10th scale specialist plans to do as much races as he can for Matrix and both he and his tyre sponsor are looking forward to another successful season.
