Schumacher Masters Rd1 – Report

This past weekend was the start of the hugely successful Schumacher Indoor Masters Series, a great entry of almost 130 meant that the racers were once again keen to get back racing indoors in the dry at the awesome Worksop venue. In 2WD it was very close all day, going into the last heat of qualifying any one of four drivers could still take the pole position on the grid for the start of the A-final. After all of the racing action the A-final 2WD result saw Simon Moss taking the win from Richard Lowe and James Helliwell.

Axial Yeti XL 1/8th RTR monster buggy

Axial introduce the 1/8th scale Yeti XL Monster Buggy the up-sized brother of the 1/10th scale Yeti. Being a mixture of a monster truck and a rock racer the Yeti XL was developed with maximum bashability in mind. The vehicle is powered by a Castle Creations 2200KV 4-pole Vanguard XL brushless motor and equipped with the industry’s first 8th scale solid rear axle with an independent front suspension chassis system. Everything is kept under control by massive 20mm aluminium shock bodies that house Big Bore 16 (16mm) pistons on beefy 4mm shock shafts which help maintain high speed stability when running through a wide variety of terrain. Included with the kit also comes a Vanguard AE-4 XL 6S LiPo-compatible brushless speed controller and a water-resistant Tactic TSX45 MG metal gear servo.

Patrick Hofer takes 11th Swiss championship title

Team Associated’s Patrick Hofer successfully ended his campaign in this year’s Swiss 1/10th Buggy Championship by taking the 2WD and 4WD Buggy class titles. Patrick won all rounds this season on his way to grab his 11th Swiss Championship title in a row.

Steven Hartson wins Mod Truck at Reedy Truck Race

The 2014 Reedy Truck Race of Champions was hosted by Hot Rod Hobbies and Raceway located in Southern California with the truck-only event bringing out the best competition for Short Course and Stadium Truck racers of all ages at a two day event. In Modified Truck Steve Hartson and Kevin Motter went 1-2 while in Modified 2WD Short Course, Kevin and Steven were also on the podium finishing 2nd and 3rd behind Cody Turner.

Tyler Jones wraps up Midwest Nitro Series

TLR/JConcepts driver Tyler Jones wrapped a very successful summer season this past weekend when the young gun attended the Midwest Nitro Series finals at Leisure Hours raceway in Joliet,IL. Rain and cold weather scared some off but still a great turnout. With the rain, the organisers were forced to run on the indoor track and the crew had a great track for the drivers. Tyler was able to TQ both the Pro Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes again, with the only 19 lap runs in Pro Nitro Buggy.

JConcept’s IFMAR World Championship winning Hi-Clearance 1/10th buggy wing is now available as a drop-on fit for the RC10B5 and RC10B5M. Debuted at the 2011 IFMAR Worlds, the Hi-Clearance wing design has been used with success on medium to large sized tracks where fast, at-speed handling is required. Moulded in exclusive and durable polycarbonate, the wing features a beefy feel but light-weight enough to be considered a race wing. Mibosport Cup 2014/15 – Announcement

The 2014/15 season of the popular Mibosport Cup Winter Series will kick off on the weekend of the 1st of November in the city of Hrotovice, host of the opening round of the 2014/15 ETS. Attracting 299 drivers in total including the likes of Ronald Völker, Marc Rheinard, Marc Fischer, Martin Bayer and Marek Cerny last year’s series was great success. This year’s series is run in the six classes of Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, Formula 1, 1/12 and 2WD and 4WD Buggy. More information can be found here.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd7 – Report

The penultimate round of the Belgian SCT Cup was held at the BRTC club’s track, the place SC racing started in Belgium some years ago. The race marked the final outdoor event of the year and despite a sunny start into the weekend, on race day the track was very wet. A few brave drivers tackled the first qualifier anyway only to find that the trucks would collect loads of dirt but as time went by the track started to dry, making for better conditions and allowing more drivers to start into the second round of qualifiers.
