Yeah Racing Transformula & M05 options

Yeah Racing release two new option parts for the Yeah Racing Transformula F1 conversion kit and Tamiya’s M05 chassis. Starting with the side shock graphite plate for the F1 kit the part is designed to adapt a 1/12 scale side damper to the chassis giving an additional setup option. The set included two graphite adapter plates and several washers and screws to make for a solid base for the optional side damper. Also available are spring steel universal drive shafts for Tamiya’s M05 M-type chassis. Designed to allow for greater steering angles and a decreased tendency to chatter while cornering the driveshafts also last longer due to the special spring steel material used. Also recommended when using a solid front axle.

Scott McBride reports on 2011 FEMCA championship

Only a couple of days after Team Durango team member Kyle McBride won the prestigious FEMCA 1/8 scale nitro off-road championship his father Scott wrote a very detailed report about the event in general and the preparation of Kyle’s Team Durango DNX408 in detail. Burly & Newton win BRCA GT10 & F1 nationals Rd2

The second round of the inaugural BRCA F1 and GT10 nationals took place at Ardent Raceway. In the GT10 class that is closely based on the World GT formula pioneered in the US, Luke Burley took a dominant TQ driving a GM powered Associated 10R5.1. Luke was the class of the field all day leaving Mark Burgess in 2nd on the A-final grid ahead of Jason Butterfield, both also driving Associateds. In the A final Luke cruised to a comfortable win and in doing so almost lapped the entire field. He was followed home by Jason Butterfield in second and Chris O’Donoghue in third position.

Meen Vejrak wins 4th KM Asia Cup Race

KM Racing’s Meen Vejrak has won the 1/10 scale GP touring car class at the 4th KM Asia Cup race at the RC Addict race track in Bangkok/Thailand. He won in front of Suruth V. (Xray NT1) and Surikan C. (Xray NT1) with KM Racing driver Charlee P. (KM H-K1) in fourth position. This was the last KM Asia Cup Race this year with the next meeting, the KM World Cup, is being held one month before the 2012 World Championship at the same place. In the meantime KM Racing in association with their worldwide distributors plan to run several KM Cup selection races to send the best KM H-K1 racer of each of the participating countries to the 1st KM World Cup. KM Racing release the version 4 of their 13mm nitro fuel gun. The modified nozzle and the shorter distance from nozzle to fuel bottle make refilling more accurate, easier and faster. Available with red, blue and gun metal front and end caps.

Capricorn 1/8 setup system & C-801 chassis plate

Capricorn got in touch to tell us about their new 1/8 scale setup system and ultra lightweight chassis for the LAB C-801. The setup is specially designed to allow the adjustment of the the rear camber and toe settings without the need to remove the body mount. Cut-outs in the aluminium camber and polycarbonate toe plates leave room for the body mount. This makes for fast and easy set-up changes. The updated ultra lightweight chassis for the LAB C-801 features a re-designed front area with additional material removed under the front bulkhead area resulting in more torsional flex creating an increased steering response with the positive effect of saving some weight.

TLR Super Cup @ Eden Park Raceway

Last weekend saw the famous Eden Park Raceway club host the inaugural TLR Super Cup race meeting. Set to run over the weekend with 2WD, SCT and 4WD Buggy classes, the Super Cup format added a subtle twist to the normal race format with all classes running simultaneously over the two days with controlled practice and three rounds of qualifying on the Saturday and two round of qualifying a 3-leg finals for everyone on the Sunday. After a rather wet and slippery start on the Saturday the second race day saw rising temperatures and the usual suspects continued on good form with Ellis Stafford and Danny McGee battling for the overall TQ position in 2WD and 4WD whilst Chris Brooke looked to have sewn up the SCT qualifying after his performance on the Saturday ahead of Nathan Ralls and team mate Andy Carter.
