Coming from T-Works and made for the Team Associated RC8B3.1 buggy is a graphite receiver box plate. The CNC-machined part does away with the standard composite part for a cleaner “factory” look. The part is usable with countersunk hardware and it is available now.
HB Racing’s popular Megabite 1/8th buggy tyre is now also available in the new medium soft Yellow rubber compound that fits between the super soft Pink compound and the soft Red rubber. The Yellow compound Megabite tyre is an ideal choice for spec racing, and are the official tyre used in the HB Race Days events. Hundreds of short square pins arranged around the carcass provide traction in the corners and a central double-row of extra-wide treads give exceptional acceleration and stopping power. The fourth and final round of the popular Belgian Lovan Challenge was held over the past weekend at the large indoor track in the western part of the country. Being the last race meant that the championship would also be decided with the best three of four rounds to count. Due to the warm spring weather the turnout was a bit low. There were still over 30 starters in the popular Stock class, but the Modified class only saw two entries. The main class would thus be the Open Stock class with over 30 entries. The popularity of this class is mainly thanks to the liberal rules, with free motor, speedo and tyres. The first of four qualifiers was run on Saturday. As everyone expected, Florian Joos’ Xray took the overnight TQ by quite some margin over his usual competitors. Young French driver Jean Hannecart and winner of the previous Lovan Fun race, held on the same layout finished within two seconds of Florian. This was a great performance as Jean came back to RC racing after a long break and was driving a two years old Schumacher car. 3rd went to Belgian top nitro driver Yves Zoma. Yves was followed by his fellow Awesomatix driver Mathieu Da Rocha, who started from the slowest qualifying group. Jeremy Deram’s Xray topped of the top 5.

The 2019 edition of the EFRA 1/12 scale European Championships was held at the world famous Hudy Arena, in Trencin, Slovakia this past weekend. The race saw a strong field of more than 100 drivers from 15 different countries. Championship crowns were up for grabs in two classes – 6.5T Modified, and 13.5T Blinky Stock. The race was held over three days and practice started on Friday, and the track soon started to come in, with decent traction levels already. Alexander Hagberg was setting the early pace in Modified, and Michal Orlowski as well as Ollie Payne seemed to be the two strong forces in the Stock class in practice. As qualifying started, Alexander didn’t have a big advantage in pace anymore, as the first three rounds of qualifying were won by Jorn Neumann. Michal Orlowski also showed a strong early pace. After some setup changes and tuning of tire preparation and size, Hagberg was back on pace to take qualifier 4 and 5. The last round was a real thriller as it came down to just a few thousand of a second on the tie breaker, which eventually played in Alexander’s favor, to award him the TQ spot.
1up Racing have announced the release of their new Tenfold ultra light touring car wing screws. Precision machined from highest quality U.S. 7075-T6 alloy, the pair comes in at only 0.6g. The fasteners reduce weight at one of the highest points of the car which equates to a lower CG and quicker cornering speeds. The screws feature an oversize 16mm outer diameter to ensure even extremely thin wings stay perfectly secure. The use of a 1.5mm hex for installation allows for an extremely low-profile design while offering superior strength. M3 x 6mm threads allow easy installation on most all of today’s popular bodies.
FX Engines have introduced their new K301 EC engine, an upgraded variant of the K301. The European Champion K301 EC is based on the K301 engine and incorporates numerous improvements and refinements with focus on maximum bottom and top-end power. The 3-port engine features a ceramic main bearing and a DLC-coated, tungsten-balanced and silicone-filled crankshaft. The sleeve and piston set were specially selected and matched. The engine features 10-rib engine head and significant improvements were incorporated in the production and assembly processes, with new and even more precise quality inspection. All parts are individually measured and specially selected and matched to increase engine reliability, performance, and quality. Each engine includes a manufacturing certificate that records all important serial numbers and measurements so that, at any time, all details of the production – material batch, machine programs, responsible craftsperson, and production dates – can be traced back to the beginning.

Last weekend saw the final round of the North Swedish Touring Championship NTCC. In the Touring Car class, Marcus von Elling took the win from Linus Hollstrom 2nd and Alexander Wagstedt 3rd. Marcus also snatched the TQ spot and also the overall championship in front of Alexander Wagstedt and Linus Hollstrom. In the Formula class, Marcus von Elling won in front of Jorgen Wahlberg and Simon Fredrikssen. The championship was won by youngster Kevin Norman who took three victories out of the six races. 2nd place went to Jorgen Wahlberg in front of Anders Wagstedt in 3rd.
Xray have introduced the new NT1, the latest incarnation of the company’s IFMAR World Championship winning 1/10th 200mm nitro touring car platform. The new NT1 received some subtle updates to further increase overall performance, make it even more versatile when adapting the car to various track conditions and ensure easier setup and maintenance. First up is the all-new chassis that integrates with the new rear bulkheads, rear arms mounts, and front brace for a wider range of flex adjustments to tune for any traction level.
