Axon T4’18 big bore shock II dampers

Axon have introduced their new big bore shock II especially designed for Xray’s T4’18 touring car. The dampers are of the same construction, inner diameter and piston design as the previous version, however the shorter shock body length and an optimised piston position within the damper ensures full compatibility with the 2018 specification T4 while increasing corner speed and traction. Also the piston rod received a small update to ensure silky smooth operation which further helps with consistency and drivability. The shocks come in sets of four and they include aluminium upper and lower caps, the threaded shock bodies and pre-load nuts, as well as CNC-machined 3-hole pistons, piston rod, piston rod guides and O-rings. Not included are the needed Xray donor parts such as upper and lower shock eyelets, pivot balls, spring retainers, diaphragms and springs.

Exotek B6.1 & XB2 CF LiPo holder sets

Coming from Exotek are new carbon fibre LiPo tabs and cups battery mounts for the Team Associated B6.1 and Xray XB2 series of vehicles. Both were specifically designed to allow quickly adjustable weight tuning while providing more natural chassis flex due to the “floating” battery mount with only two tabs touching the battery instead of a whole brace spanning from side to side. The sets are made of carbon fibre, the AE set scrubbing about 4.5g of weight while the Xray set is about 4g higher than stock and both include all needed hardware. The B6.1 set is usable for all B6.1-based kits such as the B6.1, T6.1 and SC6.1 as well as the older spec B6, while the Xray mounts can be used with all XB2 and XT2 series kits, however it is understood that JConcepts buggy bodies for the XB2 do not provide enough clearance for the tabs.

Danish Electric Off-road Championship Rd2 – Report

The small and bumpy Black Hill RC track in Hobro hosted round 2 of the Danish Electric Off-road Nationals recently. In the 2WD qualifiers Jesper Rasmussen was on fire right from the start as he was one of the few drivers that delivered a mistake-free run. In Q2 Jesper took again the TQ without any mistakes in front of M. Kaerup. In Q3 Jesper was on TQ pace again but rolled it, allowing Frederik Hovgaard in front but in the end Jesper’s pace was a bit faster and he ultimately also took round 3.

2018 Lonestar Nitro Challenge – Report

This past weekend was the 2018 Lonestar Nitro Challenge at Thornhill Raceway put on by Joey Christiansen and directed by Jimmy Babcock. The three day event was pretty standard with Friday practice, Saturday qualifying, and Sunday mains plus the always popular horseshoe tournament. As far as the racing went, Team Associated’s Jake Dellinger would take the TQ honors in Pro Buggy and Pro E-Buggy with Dillon Caldwell taking TQ in Pro Truggy. In Pro Buggy Jake Dellinger and Dillon Caldwell would break away from the field early with Tekno’s Tyler Hooks not far behind, but with Tyler having a DNF early on, the race for 3rd was seemingly Team Associated’s Austin Jeffries until Xray’s Ethan Lefebvre mounted a late race charge to take over the spot. Jake Delligner would come out victorious after a lengthy battle with Caldwell which ended in a flame out for the HB Racing privateer, Caldwell would rebound to finish 2nd.

Tekno EB410 front & rear swaybar sets

Tekno RC have announced two new swaybar sets for the EB410 1/10th scale 4WD buggy. They make it easier to fine-tune the setup depending on the traction level, from loamy low traction surfaces to high grip carpet. The front set includes wires thicker than those found in TKR6623 and are best used on higher grip surfaces such as carpet or blue grooved clay. They provide a great tuning option to reduce steering sensitivity and prevent traction rolling on high bite surfaces. Included are five 1.5mm to 1.9mm wires. The rear set includes thinner-than-stock swaybars, making them a useful option for low grip surfaces. They will help generate additional rear traction and can also aid in stabilising the rear suspension on very bumpy surfaces. Included are five 1.0mm to 1.4mm wires.
