Avid 22X Triad Slipper | Direct Drive

Avid has released a new Triad Evo Slipper, and Triad Direct Drive, for the Team Losi Racing X22 1:10 4WD Buggy platform.  The Triad Evo Slipper fits the 22X lineup and has several advantages over the current slipper offerings.  The design allows the clutch to transmit power, yet it still maintains a degree of slip without overheating.  They offer four pre-configured kits and one customisable kit in order to better suit racers needs.  Pre-configured kits of Mod (81/84), 17.5 (69/72), 21.5 (66/69), and UK (78/81) spurs with Avid CPD slipper pads are avsailable. Their customisable Triad Evo allows you to choose which two spurs and even allows you to choose which pad configuration you would like.  The Triad Direct Drive for the 22X allows stock racers to remove the entire clutch assembly for conditions where the driver feels having less rotating mass and zero slip except from the differential is beneficial.  This system is the lightest direct drive unit available today coming in at 6.45g with a 72t (2.62g with no spur).

Avid 13mm Precision Carpet ‘Batch 2’ Springs

New from Avid Racing Concepts comes their 13mm Precision ‘Batch 2’ Springs. These new additions will be used on high grip office carpet, or heavier vehicles like stadium trucks. The Avid Springs are specifically designed for carpet racing by having stiffer rates and shorter lengths – this allowing you to get to your low ride heights easily. The springs are left raw so the spring rate and action of the spring is not compromised from any extra chemical processes, just like Avid’s famous springs that they released in 2013!

Avid B7 -2° Wider C Mounts | Hard Anodised Slipper Screw

Avid Racing Concepts has released new -2° Wider C Mounts and a Hard Anodised Slipper Screw for the Team Associated RC10B7 platform.  The Avid -2° C Arm Mount was first innovated by the US Upgrade parts producer for the B6.3 and has turned into a must-have if you are racing on high bite surfaces such as carpet or turf.  These mounts for the B7/T7/SC7 and B84 frees up the vehicle in the turns and when landing jumps sideways such as corner tabletops.  Typically, to get to the low rear toe settings that you need on carpet, you have to start narrowing the pills through the D Mount which is increasing side bite by decreasing your track width. Our C Arm mount prevents that from happening by widening the C pivot block, thus starting you at 1 deg of rear toe with centred pills on the C and D mount instead of 3.  You will be amazed at how well your car handles with less rear toe done in the correct fashion.  Also new from Avid for the B7 is their hard-anodised 7075-T6 aluminium Slipper Screw which weighs just 1.43 grams.  While their titanium version saved weight it eventually picked up a slight bend which sent Avid back to the drawing board.  The result is a screw that stays straight, keeps the weight low, and costs a lot less than titanium.  The 2mm hex makes slipper adjustments easier, even with the motor fan still on.

Avid 1:10 Truss 2.2 Buggy Wheels

Upgrade parts producer Avid Racing Concepts has released its Truss wheel for 1:10 Offroad use.  The most striking feature of the design is the concave face, which enhances reflections from the polished finish while keeping the face vertical to protect the wheel nut and axles when the straightaway pipe becomes a berm.  Inside, six ribs reduce rotating mass, and their symmetric triangle truss sits where the hex transfers the most torque, cutting down on wheel fatigue.  The inner glue bead ribs are shortened to let the foam absorb impact on landings instead of the tire hitting the rib.  Finally, the wheel nut area has fewer cutouts, leaving more material to handle aggressive serrated nuts, a design the US brand pioneered over a decade ago.

Avid 2.5mm 3 Hole Pistons for AE 13mm Shock

Avid Racing Concepts has released a new line of 2.5mm 3 Hole Pistons for Team Associated’s new 13mm shocks.  The thicker 2.5mm style. offer a conventional setup but with a perfectly machined round piston and square 90° edges for a tight-fitting piston that has little blow-by creating more pack on jumps.  The AE piston has a slightly rounded outer edge and the holes are chamfered which results in harder landings. Over the years here at Avid, we have developed a process of keeping all the edges sharp with little to no burrs to keep your confidence high when landing big jumps.  The pistons are offered in packs of 2 pieces in 1.4mm, 1.5mm, 1.6mm, and 1.7mm options.

Avid Xray Shock Shaft Conversion and Pistons

New from Avid Racing Concepts are these Xray Shock Shaft Conversions and Machined Pistons that remove the need for e-clips.  The US company’s system has the perfect tolerance so when you fully tighten down the screw, the full assortment of pre-drilled Avid pistons are still allowed to slightly spin keeping it from deforming.  To finish the shafts they are chrome-plated to ensure the smoothest surface possible.  The machined 13.2mm pistons are for the Avid Shock Shaft Conversion for the new Xray big bore shocks.  They offer a conventional setup but with a perfectly machined round piston and square 90° edges for a tight- fitting piston that has little blow-by creating more pack on jumps.  The Xray ground piston only comes in blanks and it has a slight indentation cut on the top taking away from its total thickness.  Avid have developed a process of keeping all the edges sharp with little to no burrs to keep your confidence high when landing big jumps.

Avid B7 & LD3 Forged Carbon Shock Towers

New from Avid Racing Concepts come these Forged Carbon Front Shock Towers for the Team Associated RC10B7 and Schumacher LD3 2WD buggies.  Made from 4mm forged carbon fibre, with lightly chamfered edges to help prevent splitting, they towers are designed for carpet/turf, and maintains the kit profile so the stock shock guards still work.  To do this, Avid removed the outside hole on the tower because we found we never use it.  The B7 tower is -3mm front and while the LD3 towers are -4mm on the front and -3mm on the rear.
