Updated Avid B5-series aluminium steering bellcranks

Avid have introduced updated aluminium steering bellcranks for the Team Associated B5-series of buggies and trucks. They offer a revised design and material with the left bellcrank now being made of 7075-T6 alloy in order to improve reliability which was an issue with the older specification especially in truck applications. The new bellcranks still are of a lightweight design for minimal weight gain and they are strong enough to withstand the rigours of racing even on high-bite surfaces and with today’s high-power servos. The set includes the left and right bellcrank and two aluminium crush tubes and it fits all AE fifth generation vehicles such as the B5, B5M, T5M and SC5M.

Avid 5.8mm titanium pivot balls

New from Avid come 5.8mm titanium pivot balls with M3 thread and 3mm hex head. Weighing in at 0.36g each they can scrub a good amount of weight especially in higher placed areas such as upper shock mounts and they are usable on a range of 1/8th and 1/10th scale on-road cars such as the ones from Xray, ARC, Serpent, HB, Kyosho and others. The pivot balls come in sets of four in a reusable doodad container.

Avid Kyosho shock & turnbuckle tool V2

Avid have introduce the version 2 of their popular Kyosho shock and turnbuckle tool. Machined from 6061 aluminium and coming black anodised and with silver edges the V2 tool offers improved ergonomics for more effortless wrenching. The wrench is designed to allow the easy use of the lower cartridges of the Kyosho 12mm shocks and it also incorporates a 3.5mm turnbuckle and 5.5mm nut wrench.

Avid aluminium top deck clamp

The aluminium top deck clamp, featured in Avid’s recently introduced T4’16 adjustable top deck, is now also available separately. The additional clamp allows to reinforce the rear section of the chassis which can be beneficial in certain track conditions. Included are the upper and lower clamp parts machined from aluminium and a suitable countersunk screw.

Xray T4 adjustable hard carbon fibre top deck

Coming soon from Avid and made for the Xray T4’16 is the adjustable 2.0mm hard carbon fibre top deck. The first of its kind, it allows to adjust the twisting stiffness in the front, simulating a 0.5mm soft top deck all the way to a 2.2mm hard top deck by simply sliding a clamp back and forth in the front. The rear section of the TD also allows a clamp adjustment which is only capable of stiffen the rear for advanced setup gurus. Five small position holes have been added on each rail to help with precise adjustment changing and monitoring and the deck is cut from 100 percent premium carbon fibre with layup angles balanced left and right to insure equal twisting resistance side to side. The top deck is recommended for use on all conditions, it fits the T4’16, ’15 and ’14 and it includes the upper deck, clamp, and an Avid mini decal.

Avid Triad B5M/TLR22 direct drive set

Avid have introduced the Triad direct drive set that allows stock racers to remove the entire clutch assembly for conditions where the driver feels having less rotating mass and zero slip except from the differential is beneficial. The unit is of a very lightweight design which was accomplished by removing all the plates and pads as well as the steel spring with a minimalist design done in aluminium. The DD plate is hard anodised for strength and the DD post is gutted for weight removal for a grand total of 0.8 gram. For B5M owners, there is also an included M4 aluminium flanged locknut to remove even more weight. The direct drive set is a direct fitment for Team Associated 5th generation vehicles such as the B5, T5 and SC5 and it is also usable on TLR22 and Kyosho RB6 kits with the latter requiring the Avid Triad Kyosho aluminium top shaft. Avid aluminium parts trays

New from Avid come aluminium parts tray in three different sizes. The most unique being the 350x40mm which was designed to be placed at the top or sides of a pit area as a more permanent solution. Also available are a 200x100mm and a 150x75mm tray with the 350x40mm and 200x100mm also include two round cavities that hold the included Doodad containers. The black anodised trays sport laser-etched Avid logos and machined silver edges for improved visual impact.

Avid Triad aluminium wing buttons

Avid have introduced the new Triad series aluminium wing buttons for 1/10th and 1/8th scale applications. Weighing in at only 0.03 gram each, which is half the weight of Avid’s current 1/10th wing buttons, they offer silver highlights and laser-etched Avid logos. The aluminium buttons make for a more sturdy wing mounting without adding unnecessary weight and they are available in black, blue, red, green, pink, orange, hard anodise, and a new purple colour. The buttons are designed for use with an M3 flat head screw and they are usable with off-road and on-road vehicles alike.
