Avid RC8B3 carbon shock towers & alloy standoffs

Coming from Avid and made for the Team Associated RC8B3 buggy are front and rear carbon fibre shock towers and suitable aluminium shock standoffs. The 5mm front and 4mm rear tower have the shock standoff pockets removed to prevent the carbon from splitting while retaining the stock suspension geometry to make them a direct swap for the stock parts. The included standoffs are of a -1mm design to keep the standard shock angle, they are made from high-quality alloy material and using both the towers and standoffs scrubs around 40 percent of weight for a lower centre of gravity and improved handling. The parts are available as combo set with two towers and four standoffs and they are also sold separately for spares or repair.

Avid B5-series titanium steering system screws

New from Avid and made for Team Associated’s 5th generation 1/10th off-road vehicles are the titanium steering system screws. The fasteners are shouldered to remove the slop out of the steering rack while also dropping 3g of weight. Also the kit screws measure in at 2.91mm where Avid’s titanium shouldered screws come in at 2.99mm for a much tighter bearing fit. The screws are machined from billet 6Al-4V titanium, each package includes two 3-12mm and two 3-22mm fasteners and they fit the B5, B5M, T5M, and SC5M.

Avid have introduced two new aluminium option parts for the Team Associated 5th generation 1/10th off-road vehicles. First up is an aluminium steering bellcrank set. These aluminium bellcranks eliminate flex in the steering system for maximum steering feel with the set being usable for all B5 based vehicles such as the B5/B5M, T5M and SC5M. The parts come machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, they are black anodised and sport silver edge highlights and each package includes one left and one right bellcrank as well as two aluminium crush tubes for the steering rack bearings.

Coming soon from Avid and made for the ARC R10 ’15 touring car is an aluminium main chassis. Cut from 2mm 7075-T6 material and coming black anodised and with silver edge highlights the chassis features unique herringbone cut-outs for a lower weight and optimised flex characteristics. Battery tape on the bottom of the chassis has a cutout slot so it doesn’t interfere with ride height checks or drag on track while the 2mm thickness allows for a lower centre of gravity and the ability to lower roll centres more than stock. The direct replacement 82mm wide chassis is recommended for medium to high-bite conditions.

Avid have re-released their HD long rear axle for the Kyosho RB6, RB5, ZX-6, ZX-5 and SC6. The part is of an updated design compared to the standard Kyosho axle and it comes with a no-break guarantee and the extended threads make for a perfect fitment of aftermarket wheels such as the ones from Avid, Pro-Line, AKA, JConcepts and more. The axles are available as pair and also as conversion including 12mm aluminium hex adapters.

Coming from Avid and made for the Team Associated RC8B3 buggy are Avid’s carbon fibre shock towers. Machined from high-quality 5mm material the towers scrub 33 percent of weight compared to the stock aluminium parts while the rear tower also places the rear wing 1mm further back. Being a direct replacement the Avid shock stays maintain the stock suspension geometry. The parts are available separately or as a set including the front and rear tower.

Avid AE 5-series black shock kit

Avid AE 5-series black shock kit

Avid’s new black shock kit for the Team Associated 5-series off-road vehicles includes everything needed to convert four shock absorber to all-black aluminium parts. The kit includes four threaded shock collars that feature offset laser etched Avid logos for ease of matching spring tension left and right in 1/4 turn increments as well as four shock bottom caps that are knurled with a silver highlight edging. The collars have a standard internal O-ring design for holding the collar in position and the set fits all shocks that use the VCS3 design which currently includes the B5, B5M, T5M, and SC5M.

Avid Satellite limited edition 2.2

Avid’s Satellite 2.2″ disc wheels are now also available in a limited edition black colour variant. Coming as 2WD front and 2WD/4WD rear variant the wheels feature a 12mm hex, making them usable for all Team Associated B5 and Kyosho RB6 buggies. The durable and light wheels sport an angled glue catch bead, contoured inner wheel spokes and a swirl pattern that is designed to mate with serrated locking nuts to keep the wheels secure.
