Vigor A800MMX 1-piece flex top deck

Coming from Vigor and made for the Awesomatix A800MMX touring car is a 1-piece flex top deck. Machined from high-quality 2.0mm carbon fibre the top deck is of a 1-piece design, different from the MMX’s standard 2-piece upper deck, making for different torsional flex characteristics of the chassis construction. The asymmetrical design allows to swap the top deck without having to remove the spur gear, ensuring swift and easy setup changes.

7075.it A800MMX LCG aluminium chassis

7075.it have introduced new LCG aluminium chassis for the Awesomatix A800MMX mid motor touring car. Available as standard, read: more flexible variant and also in full-face High Traction specification, both chassis will improve the car’s handling in medium to high-bite traction conditions with the heavier machined chassis being ideal for medium grip tracks due to increased torsional flex while the solid surface High Traction variant is best used in high to ultra high traction conditions. Both come with a hard-anodised surface coating and they are available separately or including a 2-piece set of snuggly fitting screw-on front brass weights.

More Awesomatix A12 prototype images

Awesomatix have released more images of their A12 dubbed 1/12th scale project that hit the light of the day just days prior to last week’s 2020 IFMAR 1/12th scale World Championship. The pan car is of a pretty radical design with the main chassis having received a V-shape with the rear power pod obviously being attached directly to the “ears” of the V, doing away with traditional pitch and roll dampers. Machined aluminium braces on both sides of the chassis seem to allow the limiting of suspension travel while the front end is also of a somewhat unusual design with large diameter king pins and a construction that seems to allow for stepless spring preload and ground clearance adjustment. The car is still in prototype stages with the said vehicle having allowed Awesomatix’s team manager, Max Mächler to finish 5th in the Stock class A-main while Freddy Südhoff achieved a fine 18th place overall in the Modified class, leading a field of four A12s in Modified. The guys of Awesomatix will now sit down to evaluate the collected data and to refine and finalise the design.

Awesomatix introduce new A800 series optionals

Coming from Awesomatix are several new option parts for the A800MMX and A800FX touring cars. First up is the AM24-20 optional servo holder for the A800 4WD cars in combination with the SB1 single bellcrank steering. The newly designed mount combines the servo and steering holder in one single part. Using the mount offers a more equal chassis flex as the servo holder does not need to be screwed outside of the chassis centre line.

7075.it A800MMX LCG alloy chassis & top decks

Coming from 7075.it and made for the Awesomatix A800MMX mid motor touring car are a new LCG aluminium main chassis and split aluminium top decks. Starting with the chassis, the main plate is machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and it comes black anodised for wear and looks while machined silver edge details further enhance the visual appearance. Strategically machined holes make for optimised flex characteristics and incorporated into the design are also milled out sections to add brass weights that help to fine-tune the weight balance if needed. The chassis is available separately or including two front brass weights.

Awesomatix show more 1/12th pan car prototype images

During this week’s 2020 IFMAR 1/12th scale World Championships Awesomatix are showing off their forthcoming all-new 1/12th scale pan car platform. Still in prototype stages the company has yet to finalise the design, however we now got a first taste of what to expect with Awesomatix team manager, Max Mächler having released some images on social media. By the look of things the car will be of a pretty revolutionary design with the obvious absence of a centre shock absorber and tube side damper(s) as they are common for most electric pan cars. The front end is made up using lots of carbon fibre while the uniquely shaped “U” main chassis is made of aluminium on Max’s prototype. Overall the vehicle is of a very low profile design even by the measures of the somewhat extreme 1/12th scale cars with the performance being there from the get go as “new-to-12th-scale” Max seeded 3rd overall in the LMP Spec class. More details are expected to surface during the week.

Awesomatix 1/12th scale pan car – Teaser image

Last week we brought you a first image of what was believed to depict Awesomatix’s step into competitive 1/12th scale pan car racing and now things seem to materialise even more. Awesomatix team manager Max Mächler shared an image of his ride for the forthcoming IFMAR 1/12th scale World Championships in the UK – sans electronics but with wheels on, showing the extreme low centre of gravity design of the prototype chassis. No official details are available as of now but with the Worlds kicking off later this week official information and more images shouldn’t be too far off on the horizon.

Awesomatix 1/12th scale pan car in the making?

Awesomatix, known for their very popular and successful electric touring cars, are working on their first ever 1/12th scale pan car kit according to an anonymous source. The car is meant to sport some very unique details – as it can be excepted from the company – however no official details are available yet nor is an official statement from Awesomatix. According to our source the car above is an early prototype with the actual kit being meant to look more refined. Looking at the event’s entry list, the prototype will be in use at the forthcoming 2020 IFMAR 1/12th scale Worlds in the UK next week with Awesomatix sending some of their touring car aces to giving the car a proper introduction.
