Capricorn C803EP 1/8th electric on-road kit

Following a first teaser image, Capricorn have fully unveiled their C803EP 1/8th electric on-road kit. Based off of the successful C803 nitro car, the electric-powered variant features an updated radio tray design to accommodate dual LiPo shorty batteries to comply with the latest EFRA rules, while the 1-piece motor mount allows for easy gear mesh adjustment and the use of motors with both M3 or M4 screw mounting pattern. On addition the motor mount utilises a carbon fibre motor fan mount for 40mm units to keeping the motor temperatures down. The side belt tensioner also received an update to work with the new motor mount and the single speed transmission makes use of nitro 2nd gear gears in the 56T to 58T range as well as 23T to 25T pinions. Capricorn recommends 2600kV brushless motors although been slightly slower 2100vK motors can be used.

Updated Capricorn C803 front bumper

Capricorn have introduced an updated front bumper for the C803 1/8th on-road car. The part features a higher rib in the rear section that leads to increased overall stiffness while the updated design also allows to mount the front body posts directly onto the bumper, doing away with the need to use an upper plate. Using bumper-mounted body posts will improve the overall downforce available and the bumper is usable on all of Capricorn’s 1/8th on-road cars. An extra upper plate is included in the set to further strengthen the front area but it is only usable with C803 based cars.

Capricorn C803 front differential

Capricorn have introduced a front differential set for their C803 1/8th scale car. Intended for the use in low-grip conditions, using a front differential gives a different on-track feeling and allows for 4-wheel braking while also making the car easier to drive. When used with a 30T front pulley the suggested diameter delta between rear and front wheels is 6mm instead of the usual 7mm, whereas when using a 29T pulley the delta should be brought down to 4.5mm.
