Capricorn TE02 V2 motor mount system

Capricorn TE02 V2 motor mount system

Capricorn release first information on the V2 motor mount system for the TE02 touring car kit. Making use of a CNC-machined mono block for the motor and layshaft mount the construction gives the rear part of the chassis a different flex characteristic. By the looks of things the layshaft mount allows for several top deck flex settings as the upper deck can be coupled or decoupled from the mounts while a centre post in front of the motor further enhances the flex setting possibilities. The motor mount is fixed to the new 89mm wide chassis using four screws and the new upper deck is available in a soft 1.6mm and a hard 2.0mm version. The V2 system, that should become available very soon, will increase overall traction and mid corner speed.

Capricorn V3 standard & big bore shock absorbers

Capricorn V3 standard & big bore shock absorbers

Italian company Capricorn introduce the new V3 shock absorbers for their EP and GP kits. The shocks feature a redesigned lower cartridge that allows to use dual O-rings for better sealing or a single O-ring for a smoother operation with less friction. A new piston rod design holds the pistons in place using a screw for easier setup changes and a fixed piston that does not rotate within the shock housing. The 1/10th shocks are available as 52mm, 55mm and 57.5mm long variant while the 1/8th related shocks come in 57.5mm an 60.5mm length. Also new are 50 shore and 60 shore volume compensator membranes for further fine-tuning.

Capricorn LAB C03 1/10th scale 200mm chassis

Capricorn LAB C03 1/10th scale 200mm chassis

Following the introduction of their latest 1/8th scale chassis Italian company Capricorn now also have first information on their forthcoming new 1/10th scale 200mm car available. The LAB C03 is an evolution of its predecessor, the C02, with the transmission has seen a bit of a make-over to become easier to work on. Several redesigned areas reduce the overall number of parts for improved reliability and reduced maintenance time. Also new on the drivetrain are redesigned tensioners for all three belts and the ability to run high or low front and rear axles. A redesigned chassis makes for improved weight distribution and constant flex control for more steering and traction. Another new chassis part is the completely redesigned radio plate which uses a traditional position for the throttle servo and a floating, ball-raced front mount for the FSS front flex system. Other new features include new shocks, a redesigned engine mount and alternative link position for the rear upper links providing better traction in low grip conditions.

Capricorn LAB C802 1/8th scale chassis

Capricorn LAB C802 1/8th scale chassis

Capricorn have released the follow up to their successful C801 chassis, the LAB C802 is a natural evolution and was in use at the recent 1/8th Euros where it got both cars in the top 4 with Dario Balestri taking the title. Access to the car’s transmission has been made easier with the a new front assembly meaning that is now possible to change both the front and rear belts in less than 15 minutes. The famous 0,8 transmission which inspired the other constructors as it was able to give more traction and handling remains unchanged as does the reverse clutch with ultralight bell. The radio plate is completely new and uses a traditional position for the throttle servo while the floating front mount works on ball bearings, and by simply fastening or removing 2 screws it is now possible to activate the FF2 system (Full Flex System).

Capricorn setup tools & Lab C801 bumper

Capricorn setup tools & Lab C801 bumper

Italian brand Capricorn have released some new items including some setup tools and a part for the C801. First up are the new red anodised aluminium droop gauge and setup blocks as well as a ride height gauge. The droop gauge measures from -5.5mm to 10mm in 0.5mm increments, while the ride height gauge has a range from 3mm to 10mm, also in 0.5mm increments. For the C801 is a new front bumper, as used by Dario Balestri to win the recent Euros, which they claim helps improve the car’s reactiveness on the fast corners and improves the car’s accuracy in the slow parts of the track thanks to the way it funnels the air on its bottom side.
