Lee Martin joins offroad newcomers Infinity

Following yesterday’s announcement regarding Lee Martin leaving Mugen, Team Infinity have today confirmed that the British driver will be joining their International team. A World class off road driver, a former multiple European champion and multi time Worlds finalist who has been competing at the highest level for many years, he joins the Infinity team, which up until this point has focused on onroad, to help work on the company’s upcoming 1/8th offroad project. Lee had the following to say about the deal:

It’s a pleasure to be joining the Creation Model / Infinity team. The team infrastructure and their desire to succeed at the highest possible standard not only excites me but inspires me. Assisting in the development stage of the new 1/8th off road range is an opportunity that I could not miss, having the chance to work with Miura San to produce the most competitive vehicles we can with no compromises. Infinity & Speedmaster Japan join forces

Infinity have announced it has formed a new partnership with Masayuki Miura and Speedmaster Japan. SMJ has vast experience across all classes of racing at the very highest level and Miura has been a contributing factor in many World Championship wins over the last 15 years. With Infinity having many new product lines planned this cooperation will help to expand all future developments and also race team activities. Infinity president Kenji Taira states:

Oliver Mack & Armin Weihert join Team Infinity

Oliver Mack & Armin Weihert join Infinity

Team Infinity have announced the addition of Germany’s Oliver Mack and Armin Weihert to their already star studded factory team. Oliver, who spent close to a decade with Shepherd, claimed his first EFRA European A title with the German team in 2015 is joined in the move by long time pitman Weihart who has worked at Shepherd for more than a decade. The pairing has already had a successful first outing with the car during last weekend’s Novarossi Trophy in Fiorano with the next big races being the German Nationals followed by the fourth and final round of the ENS held in Fiorano in October. Oliver has the following to say about the deal:

I want to thank Shepherd and the Schäfer family for the past 8 years that were crowned by the European Championship title in 2015. I am now looking forward to the new adventure with Infinity. My first outing with the new car was already pretty successful and I am very excited to run it at the German Nationals and the ENS in Italy.

Kyle Branson teams up with Infinity

Kyle Branson teams up with Infinity

Creation Model has announced that British talent Kyle Branson has signed to join their factory race team. Branson, who was the runner-up at the 2013 1/8th EFRA Euros, joins a line up of experienced racers, to compete in the on-road nitro classes with Infinity’s 1/8th scale platform and the recently revealed 1/10th scale prototype. Branson will also be continuing to race electric on-road, and contributing to the development of Infinity’s future projects. Branson, a multi-time ENS and Euros A-finalist, made the top ten at this month’s IFMAR Worlds in Gubbio, has the following to say about the deal:

I’m really excited to join creation model to be running their infinity brand car’s. The dedication the team has shown in its short time to establish itself as one of the leading manufacturers is amazing, and I can’t wait to hit the track with their cars. I want to thank Kenji and every body at creation model for the opportunity to represent the team, and look forward to achieving more great results with them.

Infinity reveal 1/10th 200mm touring car prototype

Creation Model have revealed the prototype of their forthcoming Infinity 1/10th 200mm nitro touring car kit. The yet unnamed car makes a first public appearance during this week’s IFMAR 1/10th 200mm World Championships in Gubbio, Italy. Although sporting outsourced suspension and transmission components the development of the Miyashita designed car is pretty far which is also reflected by the very fast practice pace of the Jilles Groskamp steered example. Creation Model have announced the signing of former IFMAR Electric Touring Car World Champion, Jilles Groskamp to the Infinity team. Jilles was chosen for his incredible driving skills, passion and dedication to the hobby. With his experience and professional attitude he will be an important part of the team while helping to improve current and develope future projects. The former HB/HPI driver had the following to say about the deal:

I’m very happy to announce my career move to Creation Model. This new company has a great passion for R/C and I will be joining a great group of people. First I will be running the Infinity 1/8 at most big races but in the meantime we will also be working hard on future projects. Francesco Tironi joins Infinity

Creation Model have announced the signing of Italy’s Francesco Tironi to their team. The multiple European and World Championship finalist will join prominent team members such as Lamberto Collari or the recently signed Andy Moore and Teemo Leino. The former Shepherd racer and multi-time Italian national champion had the following to say about the deal:

I’m really proud to communicate you that from 2016 I will be part of the Infinity Team; we have an important program for 1/8 on road scale and I will be involved in the development of the new projects that company will start in the future.
