GRP branded Ear plugs

 GRP branded Ear plugs

Following hot on the heels of Tuesdays release of GRP branded sunglasses come these, as useful but less cool looking, bright orange ear plugs. Perfect for use at the races to block out the sound of gas engines and people you don’t want to listen to, they have been made of a soft foam material to help block out high sound frequencies. Sold in a pair, they come in a clear plastic box with GRP branding.

GRP branded Sunglasses

 GRP branded Sunglasses

The ultimate test of your brand allegiance, tyre and engine maker GRP have released these branded sunglasses. Unlike other brand glasses I have seen, these one don’t actually look too bad, despite the orange arms and GRP logo on the side and apparently they are well made and actually do a decent job of keeping the sun out of your eyes. I’m sure we will see them in the paddock at next weeks World Championship in Argentina.

GRP Multi Ring TC Foams

GRP Multi Ring TC Foams

Mirage Racing have started to promote these new multi ring touring car foam tires from Italian tire maker GRP. The Multi ring technology, essentially 5 rings of different tire compound on the one wheel, allows you to run a softer grade tyre for better forward traction while the structure allows for less lateral movement so you can run a bigger diameter tyre without suffering from traction roll and therefore having the advantage of longer runs with less wear. The foam comes pre mounted on  these new wheels which are made with a special plastic material with a reinforced yet flexible structure to allow maximum strength and performance at any temperature and track.

GRP Super Soft compound

GRP Super Soft compound

Following up on the release of the Conespike, a tire developed by GRP together with UK importers Mirage, comes this new Super Soft compound for the already popular GRP Jolly and Atomic 1:8th Off Road tread patterns. The surface of the tire has a new subtly textured finish which improves traction if the tire folds under hard acceleration or cornering, which has made a huge difference in performance of the tire. They have also been busy developing a new softer yellow insert to maximise the performance from the new softer compound tyres. The inserts improve handling on bumpy/rutted tracks as well as when landing from large jumps.

GRP Conespike 1/8th Buggy Tires

GRP Conespike 1/8th Buggy Tires

In all our excitement of writing about the new GRP Conespike for 1/10th scale, we completely overlooked the fact that GRP had also produced the same tire style for 1/8th scale as well. These tires have also been made in conjunction with Mirage Racing and UK GRP racers and have been specifically developed for the grass / astro turf conditions found in the UK.

The surface of the tyre has a textured finish instead of a smooth finish as this improves traction once the spike has folded under acceleration. This made a huge difference in performance of the tyre and was another feature that we are very happy with. We also have been very busy developing a new softer insert which is now yellow in colour and improves handling on bumpy tracks as well as landing jumps.
