JConcepts B5M honeycomb aluminium chassis

Seen for the first time at last week’s IFMAR 1/10th Off-road World Championships JConcepts have now officially introduced the honeycomb lightweight aluminium chassis for the Team Associated B5M. Machined from hard anodised black aluminium and sporting milled hex shaped pockets the chassis also features aluminium islands in the electrics compartment which are left to allow an electrical footing area for mounting and wiring needs. The hex pockets in the centre of the chassis have been cleared for sensor wire or miscellaneous wire routing. All edges of the honeycomb pockets have been highlighted with chamfered edging all around, bringing out an luxurious look. The honeycomb chassis weighs in at 112 grams, some 23 grams less than a stock counterpart all while still remaining structurally sound, making it deal for stock and modified racers alike.

Following a dedicated variant for the B5 series of vehicles JConcepts now also have a spring steel CVA set for Team Associated’s T5M and SC5M trucks available. The design is based around the HD 5mm axle diameter which is able to stand up to a rigorous demands of today’s racing. The bones have been machined of spring steel material for the ultimate in durability and performance and inserted with hardened steel pins on the drive ends. The aluminium pin barrels have a high tolerance fit and finish for smooth and quiet performance while the advanced plating on the bones, axles and barrels which also provide corrosion resistance.

JConcepts have introduced a new option part for the Team Associated B5 series of vehicles in the form of the spring steel CVA set with hex adaptors. The set is built for performance, durability and looks with the design being based around the HD 5mm axle diameter which is able to stand up to a rigorous demands of today’s racing. The bones have been machined of spring steel material for the ultimate in durability and performance and inserted with hardened steel pins on the drive ends. The aluminium pin barrels have a high tolerance fit and finish for smooth and quiet performance. The CVA kit fits the B5, B5M and B5M Factory Lite and it also includes light-weight, black anodised aluminium 12mm clamping style hex adaptors for a slide on fit to the HD axle. The advanced plating on the bones, axles and barrels also provide corrosion resistance and for more recognition, the JConcepts.net logo is etched onto each bone for identification and authenticity.

JConcepts have new a chassis protective sheet available for the Team Associated SC5M short course truck. Coming in 2-piece sets the pre-cut and graphically pleasing decal helps to protect the chassis bottom from becoming damaged or excessively scratched on abrasive surfaces.

JConcepts Detox 1/8th buggy tyre

JConcepts have introduced the Detox 1/8th buggy tyre. Designed for those extra brutal track conditions, the tyre features a closely spaced tread that was made to survive long mains and it is available in compounds such as red, blue and green giving racers an option for just about any temperature requirement. The design revolves around the centre structure which has hefty lugs arranged in a stacked configuration. The lugs have strategically placed cuts and grooves to allow flex in dusty conditions to perform even if the track is deteriorating while a long main is in progress. The outer portion of the tread fits together like building blocks, with shapes placed together that nest well but also work together to flex laterally to provide steadfast side-bite. The tread tapers off cleanly to the outer side-wall giving a smooth transition during hard cornering. Included with the tyre come JConcepts’ Dirt-Tech inserts.

JConcepts proven Mono 1/10th buggy wheels are now also available in a “slim” 2WD front variant. The rim completes a wheel lineup for the narrow carpet and Astroturf front tires routinely used around the world. The internal ribs feature support in all the appropriate areas extending inside to out against the outer bead ring. The centralized hex accommodates a huge selection of 2WD buggy platforms – including the B5, RB6, KF2, SRX-2 and YZ-2 – and is shallow enough for a clean install every time. A polished face maintains a clean yet simple look for the racer and an outer glue catch resists excess glue from running down the wheel during the mounting process. Following yesterday’s introduction of the Chasers 4.0″ 1/8th truck tyres JConcepts also have the Reflex 4.0″ tyres available soon. The Reflex tread is designed to bridge a gap between the popular Hybrid tyre and other options such as the Subcultures and Stacker. The Reflex has square angled pins that are stacked vertically to flex and fold evenly across the tyre and typically a stacked tread will wear less and provide more forward bite while the aligned space helps rotation in the turns and gives a snappy release to square up quickly. Like all new tyres the Reflex includes Dirt-Tech inserts and it will become available in a range of compounds and also pre-mounted on white or yellow rims.

JConcepts Chasers 4.0" 1/8th truck tyres

JConcept’s Chasers tyre is now also available in a 4.0″ 1/8th scale truck version. The Chasers rely on hefty, medium lugs which are angular in multiple directions. The horizontal type tread has a striking similarity to the trusty Crossbow but with a lower, closer lug arrangement which gives responsiveness and bites in medium, high and low grip conditions. The wet and dry condition tyre has small recessed cuts in the top of the tread for extra edges and increased formability over terrain. The centre overlapping bar treatment increases durability in the highest wear region of the tyre. The Chasers are available in a range of compounds, including Dirt-Tech inserts and also pre-mounted on white or yellow wheels.
