Adam Drake wins Open Truggy at JBRL Nitro Series Rd3

Last weekend’s round 3 of the 2020 JBRL Nitro Series held at Empire R/C Raceway in Brentwood, California saw Mugen’s Adam Drake walk away with the win in the Open Nitro Truggy class. The TQ spot was taken by SWorkz’s Ryan Cavalieri, however the former IFMAR World Champion and Expert Nitro Buggy A-main winner wasn’t able to fend off Adam in the 15-minute A-main event with Drake eventually taking the win some 0.9 seconds ahead of Ryan as Xray’s Jaden Tiu completed the top 3 results.

MSE Performance Parts 10g balance weight

Coming from MSE Performance Parts is a 10g balance weight that is a direct fit for the Mugen MRX, MTX, and MTC range of on-road vehicles. The balancing weight can be used in several areas and is stackable, allowing the driver to alter the car’s weight bias as needed. The weight is precision machined and it comes with a machined weight marking and and MSE logo.

Mugen Seiki Racing MBX8T LE Factory Built truggy

Mugen Seiki Racing from the U.S. have introduced their new Limited Edition factory-built Mugen MBX8T nitro truggy kit. Mugen Seiki Racing’s Ryan Maifield and Adam Drake personally assembled a limited number of MBX8T Factory Built nitro kits that were built to Ryan and Adam’s specifications and include the recommended option parts from Mugen Seiki and Flash Point Racing Products. Built using Flash Point’s performance shock and diff fluids, these kits are geared towards a seasoned racer who’s looking for true performance.

Ruddog MBX8 carbon fibre front wing set

Made for the Mugen MBX8 is Ruddog’s new carbon fibre front wing set that attaches right to the front upper arms. The set includes moulded carbon fiber wings as well as lightweight mounting brackets that fit right on top of the upper arms, making for a sturdy yet lightweight base for the wings. Using these aerodynamic aids will improve front end grip and traction at higher speeds while optimising the buggy’s balance when being airborne. In addition they are looking pretty slick and offer additional space for sponsor stickers.

Desiles Aero 1/8th on-road body mount horns

Desiles Aero have announced the release of their new body mount horns for 1/8th on-road kits such as the ones from Mugen, Shepherd and WRC Racing. The 3-D-printed parts add to the rear body mount as usual, reinforcing the side dams of the body for improved aerodynamic efficiency, however the horns include a lower airfoil that is meant to improve downforce for improved stability at high speeds. The add-on horns are available for Mugen, Shepherd and WRC Racing cars with more brand to follow shortly.

MSE Performance Parts MRX6X rear carbon body mount

Made for the Mugen MRX6X 1/8th nitro on-road vehicle is the MSE Performance Parts rear carbon body mount set. Designed in collaboration with IFMAR World Champion Robert Pietsch, the set fits most of today’s body shells while adding much needed stiffness for improved downforce and car balance especially on high-speed tracks. The set is made in Germany and includes all needed parts.

RC-Project introduce new 1/8th off-road shock standoffs

Coming soon from RC-Project from Italy are new shock standoffs for HB Racing, Mugen, SWorkz and Team Associated 1/8th off-road kits. The standoffs are machined from high-quality Ergal 7075-T6 material with the design of the standoff increasing the surface between the shock cap bushing and shock mount, meaning less wear to all parts involved. A hard-coat finish and teflon treatment further enhance parts life. The standoffs, that are available separately for the front and rear, come with colour-matching shims specific to each vehicle and they also include high-quality mounting screws.

T-Works MBX8T 4mm carbon fibre shock towers

T-Works have introduced their new 4mm carbon fibre shock towers for the Mugen MBX8T 1/8th scale truggy. The towers are direct replacements for the stock parts and feature multiple upper shock mounting locations as well as a multitude of rear upper camber link mounting positions. Also included are several rear wing mount positions that allow to sift the rear wing up and down. The shock towers are available as a complete set for separately for the front and rear of the truck.
