Dace Manufacturing have released this set of 4 pillow balls for use with Mugen buggies and truggies. They are 2.5mm longer than stock allowing more threads to bite in the a-arm, those that run wider set-ups will really benefit from the longer threads. The ball ends are specially coated to make them incredibly durable and Dace offers a lifetime guarantee on these balls, replacing them if they come apart.

KM Racing blocks & NT1/MTX4 parts

KM Racing have released a number of optional parts for the Mugen MTX-4 and Xray NT1 as well as these universal droop blocks. The chassis droop support blocks, which sport the KM Racing logo have been precision machined from aluminium and red anodised and work with the previously released droop gauge. For the MTX-4, KM have created some lightweight aluminium pulleys in both 23T and 18T and their construction prevents the build up of dirt on the teeth, while a new lightweight pulley adaptor works with the original plastic pullies on the MTX3 and 4. For the Xray NT1 is a new lightweight 2nd gear carrier and 2 piece lightweight front solid axle which has been made from delrin to help reduce weight, while the design allows for replaceable ball cups.

Reckward Tuning have released the second version of their unique looking Symbio truggy body shell, suitable for the Mugen MBX-5T or Jammin X1-CRT. Made from 1mm thick high quality polycarbonate, the outer contour comes pre cut, while the rear of the shell has a R-Line diffuser for that aggressive look. Supplied with Symbio decals and window masks, refueling is possible with all fuel guns on the market through the front window.

Mugen Seiki 2008 Clothing line

Mugen Seiki in Japan have begun selling, in limited quantity, their new line of clothing for this winter. Sold together as a set including both trousers and jacket, they are only available in L and XL and can only be bought through their website. The padded jacket is available in blue, features a hood and sports the new Mugen Seiki logo on the front breast and a larger version on the rear, while the trousers look to be made from the same material and are therefore rain proof. Orders start on the 26th of December at 5pm.

Large Mugen Seiki Carrying case

 Large Mugen Seiki Carrying case

Back in summer Mugen released the blue version of this large carrying case,  and now in the middle of winter the Japanese company has come out with the same case in grey. This large bag sports the Mugen logo screen printed on the outside and inside is 4 corrugated plastic drawers mounted within a frame. The internal size of the bag is 530mm x 315mm and the drawers are wipe able and resistant to high temperatures and moisture.

As seen on the Mugen MRX-4X of Rick V. at the 1/8th scale World Championships in Argentina, Mugen have now released this aluminium servo horn. Much stronger than the original plastic version, the new servo horn is suitable for all the cars in the Mugen range as well as on other manufacturers cars, and comes supplied with multiple composite inserts to make it suitable for all makes of servos.

Following on from the release of the lightweight clutch bell housing for the Xray NT1 back in September, KM Racing have now released a similar product for both the Kyosho V-One RRR and Mugen MTX4. Designed to be super lightweight, with the maximum amount of material removed without sacrificing strength, both bell housings has been made from a new hardened steel material for extra durability.

Joelsen & Kotze win African Cup

Joelsen & Kotze win African Cup

Hosted at the TRAP venue in Pretoria South Africa, the African Cup is now the toughest and most prestigious race in Africa. In the 200mm Nitro Touring Class Taki Dermatis was top qualifier with Christian Fourie 2nd, with all drivers running a 10 minute qualifying format. The grueling 45 minute final saw Henri Kotze take the lead early on and continue to lead throughout the tough race, held under very hot conditions. Kotze took the win by 5 laps, followed home by Mugen team mates Taki Dermatis in 2nd and Christian Fourie in 3rd. The hour long 1/8th scale final saw most drivers do a tyre change at the halfway mark, with Top qualifier Wayne Joelson & Jacques Libenberg having an early battle, with Hein Kotze close behind. Jacque ran into mechanical problems which allowed Wayne to cruise to victory, finishing ahead of Jacques Liebenberg in 2nd and Hennie Kotze in 3rd.
