Novarossi 21-5K off road engine

Novarossi 21-5K

Our friend Philip over at Neo Buggy has once again got some scoopage, this time with this picture set from the new Novarossi 21-5K buggy motor. The successor to the massively popular Plus 21-5 engine, the main differences with the 5K are a P5 sleeve and an updated crankcase all meant to produce more power and overall better performance.

Check out the other internal pics here.

UPDATE: Novarossi have now the full information on this engine up on their site here.

Novarossi Pit bag

Novarossi Pit bag

The Italian engine manufacturer Novarossi have released this large pit bag in their very distinctive blue colour. Featuring the Novarossi R logo in red on the front side the bag is padded and contains compartments that can be moved about or removed. The bag is 60cm x 35cm x 16cm, so it should be large enough to fit a 1/8th scale chassis or 1/10th scale touring car or just lots of racing stuff.

Novarossi Plus 12-3SCT/3ST

Novarossi Plus 12-3SCT/3ST

The Novarossi Plus 12-3SCT and ST have been upgraded to include an 11.9mm diameter crankshaft. The original version of this 2.1cc motor included an 11.5mm diameter crankshaft but for whatever reason it has been made larger and so the main bearings in both the standard and ceramic versions have also been updated. Now you know.

INS box by Novarossi

INS box by Novarossi

It seems Novarossi were sick of having to use either Serpent’s or Picco’s INS box on their engines so they decided to copy make their own version. Available in Novarossi blue, it sure stands out from the current crop of INS box’s with its funky colour and I’m sure it does what its meant to, but at the end of the day its just yet another copy of the original version Serpent spent so much money and effort initially researching.

Lamberto Collari wins the 2006 Trofeo Novarossi

Trofeo Novarossi

OK, i know this race took place over 3 weeks ago but it was an important race and the event report only just showed up on the Novarossi website. The Trofeo Novarossi is an annual event and a celebration of all things Novarossi and even all the factory staff are bused to the event to join in on the festivities. This year it took place at the Gubbio track in Italy and as it turned out Novarossi’s returning prodigal son Lamberto Collari won the event ahead of Euro B champion Andrea Cristiani and Worlds finalist Walter Salemi in third position.

You can view all the results and more pictures from the event here.

MLC Collari motor by Novarossi

MLC Collari Motor

We’ve all seen the pictures of the new 35 Plus .21 Lamberto Collari engine on the Novarossi site but here is a much nicer pic from Lamberto’s site tself. It is a nice looking motor from Novarossi and it comes in a limited edition pack that contains an exhaust pipe, 3 manifolds and 3 plugs, but wait for the price – RRP EUR750 (US$950)!!! This is a purchase you need to definitely clear with the wife first and perhaps even talk with your bank manager about it too and despite all that if you want one you’d probably want to put your name down now for one before they’re all gone.
