RC-Project RC8B4.1 30g Rear Chassis Weight

New from Italian option parts brand RC-Project comes this 30-gram Rear Chassis Weight for the Team Associated RC8B4.1 1:8 Buggy.  The latest weight features a redesigned structure that centralises mass distribution compared to the previous version.  This update provides improved stability in high-speed corners and better responsiveness during direction changes.  Unlike the previous model with a fixed position, the new version allows for forward weight adjustment, enabling fine-tuning of the mass distribution according to the driver’s specific needs.  Additionally, the lower geometry has been revised to ensure a mount that minimises contact surface with the chassis, significantly enhancing the chassis torsion.

Tyre compound change for EFRA 1:8 GT European C/ships

EFRA, the governing body for RC racing in Europe, has announced a change of control tyre compound for the upcoming 1:8 GT & GTE European Championships.  The fourth running of the Euros for nitro and third edition for electric, MRC Leipzig host the event at their track in central Germany from June 18-21 with Italy’s PMT the official tyre supplier.  Initially selecting the Q5 compound as part the new for 2025 rule that drivers must use one single compound for both axles, after testing it was discovered the the cars, especially electric, were difficult to drive due to the rear being to hard a compound.  As a result, the race will now switch to the softer Q3 compound.  Drivers are now also allowed to change tyres in the Main Final due to the softer compound.  In Nitro it will be Natanaele Senesi who will be looking to defend his title while another Italian, Rosario Giaimo, will be looking to retain the title he won at the Naxos World track in Sicily, Italy, last year.  Later this year 1:8 GT drivers will also compete for the World Championship title in Chile.

Infinity IF15-2 redesigned F/R Hubs

Infinity has introduced a new version of the front and rear hub of their World Championship winning IF15-2 1:10 Nitro Touring Car.  The front hubs, which replace the conventional front knuckle, are a complete redesign to improve the strength and rigidity of the bearings and other components to significantly enhance front drive stability.  The materials used have also been changed to improve crash resistance.
In addition, the ball screw opening dimensions and shape have been optimised to achieve smoother suspension stroke.  The rear hub is also completely redesigned with a wheel offset of 2mm to accommodate longer arms and additional ribs to improve overall hub rigidity. The change in suspension geometry stabilises the rear behaviour, leading to improved and stable lap times. They require the optional 8.1mm titanium ball screws which has a ball diameter that is optimised for the new rear hub.
