Balestri leads Infinity 1-2 at Italian Nationals

Dario Balestri led an Infinity 1-2 at the AMSCI 1:8 Onroad Italian National Championship, heading home Thomas Lorenzi by half a lap of the Pista di Leno track.  While rain would effect qualifying, it was the World Champion who took his Max Power engined IF18 to the TQ ahead of the Capricorn of Mirko Salemi.  With Carmine Raiola and Luca Romagnoli third & fourth, Lorenzi would line up P5.  In the 30-minute final, while Balestri lead the entire race, Lorenzi worked his way through to second  just before the half way distance.  Despite setting the fastest lap of the race, Raiola would miss out on the podium with the 3rd step going to Salemi.  In the Sport category, Mattia Perego also made it an Infinity 1-2 winning ahead of Cristian Boni with the Mugen Seiki of Alessio Forgnoli completing the Top 3.

Serpent Mini Spider RTR 1:24 EP Buggy

New from Serpent is the Mini Spider RTR, a small 1:24 EP buggy. This fun buggy is made of super elastic plastic to absorb shocks well and equipped with high-grip offroad wheels and utilising the latest technology.  The coreless motor accelerates the RC car up to 20km/h.  If this is too fast for you in the living room or children’s room, you can also reduce the speed thanks to a rotary control nub.  Throttle/brake and steering commands are sensitively implemented in full proportion by the 2.4GHz remote control.  Due to the modern transmission system, several vehicles can of course be driven at the same time.  So nothing stands in the way of the mini Grand Prix at home!

Neumann takes Q2 at Philippine Masters

Day 2 of qualifying at the Philippine Masters kicked off with another of this year’s event rookies posting a TQ run as Sworkz’ Joern Neumann topped the second of the four qualifiers from Q1 pace setter Alex Bernadzik.  Having seen his Q1 run derailed when he collected another buggy that was on its roof and dropping him back to a P6, the German would have a similar scare in Q2 as he came upon a broken buggy towards the end of the qualifier but this time he got round it without much delay.  At the finish he had 1.7-seconds from a very quick Bernadzik who put in a strong recovery drive following his copybook mistake to the one he survived at the end of his Q1 run yesterday to hang on to the TQ.  Backing up his P2 from yesterday, Atsushi Hara would complete the Top 3 followed by defending Philippine Masters Champion Davide Ongaro, the double World Champion still yet to find his rhythm here in Manila.  The two Ryan’s completed the Top 6, Lutz finishing ahead of Pavidis.
