Seen during the toy fair earlier this month, Robitronic have released full details on their new Platinum Brushless motors for 1/8th scale buggies, truggies and monster trucks. Featuring a sensored design for smoother response over non sensored versions, the timing is mechanically adjustable for fine tuning the motor’s performance to different track conditions. Sporting a 12.3mm sintered neodymium rotor with the now standard 5mm diameter shaft for use with regular 1/8th pinions, the motor is available in 6.5T, 7.5T and 8.5T versions.

AKA have announced the release of their Enduro tire, the latest tire in AKA’s arsenal of tires to suit different track conditions. Based on a fresh take on tread design, the Enduro is built on a complete redesigned carcass which features a stiffer sidewall for better cornering and internal ribbing to help keep the tire more stable when used on the softer proprietary AKA compounds. The large cross cut lugs offer long tread life yet allow the lugs to fold over and bite into the harshest conditions. Expect the super soft version at the beginning of March, with the Soft and Medium versions to be released by the end of that month.

Matrix racing tires have announced that they have agreed a two year deal with top Swedish driver Alexander Hagberg to run the 2010 and 2011 season with the company’s line of foam tires. The factory Xray driver finished in 2nd place at last year’s European 200mm Championships in Gubbio, Italy in his first year racing the category and with the Euros being held in his home country this summer he is sure to be one of the favorites for that title as well as a strong contender in Houston, Texas for the World Championships in July.

Team Associated have released their range of 1/8th scale off road brushless converted chassis’ in a combo with high tech brushless systems from LRP. The RC8Te Truggy kit, RC8e Buggy kit and SC8e short course truck can now be bought with the SPX8 speedo and Vector 8 motor, which are the perfect fit for the different cars. The SPX8 features special 1/8th power profiles with a capacitor optimized for this larger scale, while the Vector 8 motor is available in both the 2500kv and 2800kv versions.

Team Losi have introduced these new 1/8 wheel adapters for the 1/10 Strike short course truck. Losi have released their new 8ight Championship t-shirt, which promotes the 3-time ROAR National Champion 8ight Race Roller, which won the title in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Made from a heavy-weight cotton/poly blend, it features red, black and white screen-printed designs printed on the front and rear, while the left sleeve promotes the 8ight’s title as Top Qualifier in 2006 and 2009. Team Losi Racing have announced the signing of Frank Root to their off-road racing team for 2010. Frank’s vast racing experience, impeccable driving talent and superior public relations will be an excellent asset to their organization. Frank’s recent successes include 2008 & 2009 JBRL 2wd and 4wd Off-Road Champion, 2009 NORCAL Championship in 2wd and Truck and Multi-time ROAR National, Cactus Classic and Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout A-main finalist. Frank had the following to say:
