Fast Forward FF7.2F FWD conversion kit – Coming soon

Fast Forward from Austria have released first information on their new FF7.2F front-wheel drive conversion kit for the Team Associated TC7.2 touring car. The set will allow to convert the 4WD TC7.2 into a FWD touring car with the overall design offering a very centralised weight balance for improved cornering thanks to front-mid motor location, a new rail-type steering and a mid-ship mounted main gear and layshaft. Included in the kit will be the 2.25mm carbon fibre main chassis, 2.0mm carbon fibre upper deck, 3.5mm rear shock tower, a 7075 alloy servo mount, all steering components, front battery tab, diff pulley spacer as well as the belt, and nuts and bolts. Required for the conversion are a Team Associated TC7.2 kit as a donor car or the respective missing suspension and drivetrain parts. The FF7.2F is available for pre-order now and it will become available from mid-November.

Infinity introduce new IF18 parts

Ahead of next week’s 1/8th Onroad World Championship in the USA, Infinity has released a number of new parts for their IF18. A new hard front arm made from a harder material than the standard kit version offers sharp steering, a characteristic preferred by expert drivers. Another update on a standard kit part is the hard rear bushing set. Its use increases the rigidity of the suspension and improves corner speed. For down stop adjustment in the front and rear lower arms, new M4x8 round top set screws are available. The tip has a smooth round shape, making it difficult to damage the contact area with the main chassis.

RebellionRC MMCX aluminium main chassis

Coming from RC-Carbonstore’s RebellionRC brand are the new aluminium Crossflex and Solid main chassis plates for the popular Awesomatix A800 MMCX mid motor cars. The patent-pending Alu-Crossflex chassis was developed for the use in medium to high-bite traction conditions with its highly machined design allowing optimised flex characteristics that can be greatly influenced with the use of up to twelve optional brass inserts that not only add up to 47.9g of weight, making it a total of 130.9g including the chassis, in the lowest area of the chassis, but they can also be used to change the overall torsional flex characteristics. The idea was to become able to adjust the weight-balance as well as the flex individually with every insert by using different fixing positions without the need of changing the whole chassis; with a standard chassis being always hard front/rear or soft front/rear, but not hard front/soft rear. When the brass inserts are fixed at a 90 degree angle to the driving direction they almost have no influence to the flex, but if attached using the remaining – cross-positioned – mounting points, the inserts decrease the flex. To make the system work the fixing points for the “hard” setting are 0,3mm lowered to make for a free movement at “flex” setting, and when using the “hard” setting drivers need to insert the included 0,3mm shims to be able to access the desired “hard” flex settings. Both the Crossflex and the standard full face Solid chassis, for high to very high bite conditions and weighing in at 103.5g, are machined from high-quality aluminium, they come black anodised for wear and looks, feature a laser-engraved Rebellion-RC logo and they are of a conical shape, ensuring increased ground clearance and less chassis scrubbing during hard cornering. The chassis and the optional brass weight inserts are available for pre-order now and will ship from the end of October.
