World Champion Electric Touring Car ace Jilles Groskamp has wrapped up 2022 with an interesting video showing the evolution of the electric touring car body shell over the last 20-years. Having gathered together of his old race bodies, which have been in storage in his father Frank’s house, the collection includes many that we here at Red RC have had the pleasure of photographing in the heat of battle. Most notable of these are his 2009 European winning Protoform Speed 6 and his 2012 World Championship winning Protoform LTC-R. Interestingly, the factory Infinity driver concludes the video on the topic of how the so called ‘Touring Car bodyshell’ no longer has any resemblance to an actual touring car and adds he hopes the rules will be adapted to try bring them back to resembling the real thing in the future. Another interesting point is how the bodyshell is now almost half the weight of that of two decades ago.
Protoform has just introduced its latest body for high-competition 1:10 Front Wheel Drive Electric Touring Car Racing, the Speed3. The Speed3 also features the easiest mounting of any Protoform body yet. Returning are their signature mounting marks inside the front wheel arches, allowing you to choose your body positions in 2mm increments up to +8mm. In addition, are sets of markings on the hood and rear bumper to easily line up your body posts no matter what you prefer. This body is designed to meet the new FWD Global Body Spec rules and is fully approved for EFRA competition (#5004). It’s made in the USA from high-quality, super-durable 0.7mm polycarbonate and is supplied complete with convenient plastic wing buttons and under-wing “nuts”, with M3 mounting screws. A stylish decal sheet, window masks, and overspray film complete the package.
Protoform is bringing some American Muscle styling to the popular ARRMA Felony 6S platform with the release of the 2021 Ford Mustang GT body. What better way for Blue Fans to deck out their street-basher than with the legendary Ford Mustang nameplate? PF has combined the signature wide-mouth grille, hood scoops, and powerful stance of the 1:1 6th-Gen S550 Mustang with some pro-touring tuner style fender flares to transform the look of your car. Included is a sculpted rear wing to complete the super-scale look. The bodyshell is formed from durable 1.5mm thick high-quality polycarbonate with paint-then-peel overspray film, and it also includes a detailed decal sheet and wing mounting hardware. This body was designed with wider rear fenders as a direct fit for the Felony to clear the 53/107 tires. It will work with Infraction rear tires, but to get the optimal look and fit, you can optionally choose to either widen the rear of your Infraction™ chassis with stock rear tires or use Felony rear tires with modifications to the rear gear ratio.
Protoform are bringing one of the most legendary tuner cars ever built to the 1:7 scale Arrma Infraction with the release of the 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Perhaps no 1:1 car captures the overpowered, all-wheel-drive, power-sliding, rubber-burning vibe of the Arrma Infraction more than the car they call “Godzilla”. The officially licensed body captures all the exceptional details of its 1:1 counterpart with some added wide-body JDM styling. The extensive decal sheet lets you deck out your R34 with Nismo badges, windshield headers, and tuner-style sponsor logos.
