RC Maker SP1 Electric Touring Car

After months of build up & high anticipation RC Maker has just released its first ever 1:10 Electric Touring Car, the SP1. A ground up development by top touring car racer and RC Maker founder, Ryan Maker, the release of the car realises a life long passion project for the popular Australian. With over 20 years in the hobby and 8 years in the design and manufacturing industry, Maker always dreamt of being able to develop his own car kits. This dream has been brought to reality over the past 2 years, with all of the design done in house as well as much of the manufacturing and prototyping. Presenting the SP1, a touring car that challenges established concepts with an ultra-low centre of gravity coil-over shock absorber design. The SP1 is designed for everybody. A car that is easy to drive straight out of the box, with great durability. The SP1 can be tuned for any drivers taste and any track condition through its vast range of setup options and option parts.

RC Maker SP1 Touring Car production parts image

It’s a car that has been generating a lot of interest in Electric Touring Car circles and now RC Maker has published the first official photo of some of the production parts that will make up the new SP1 1:10 Touring Car kit. On its Facebook page, RC Maker gave an update with the image saying, ‘We’re inching closer to the release of our brand new SP1 Touring Car and SP1-F FWD! We will be presenting both cars on the 1st of August 2024, and at the same time we will open up Pre-Orders both directly and through our global distributor network! We will provide an estimated global release/shipping date when both cars are presented on the 1st of August! Until then, enjoy a peek at some production parts…’ A passion project of international racer Ryan Maker, who is behind the well known Australian carbon fibre parts and accessories producer RC Maker, he added on his own social media, ‘It’s hard to contain my excitement having all the production parts coming together!! Many revisions, prototypes, samples and tolerance adjustments. Leaving no stone unturned in making the SP1 and SP1-F the absolute best cars I can. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved so far. It’s taken longer than I expected, because being my first ever car, there has been a lot of learning that’s had to happen! But that’s a part of it, and possessing this valuable knowledge will only improve everything I design and produce in future! RC Maker 1:10 Onroad Weighted Tweak Wheel Set Pro

In the latest product evolution from Ryan Maker’s RC Maker comes this blacked out Weighted Tweak Wheel Set Pro for 1:10 Touring Car. Featuring a more stylish updated design that also increases the usability, durability and accuracy of the tweak wheels. With longer thumb nuts for easier attachment, new chamfered nuts tighten down to hex without shims. It has a smaller range of motion once wheel lifts, for faster resetting with a one-piece weight/bulkhead design for increased rigidity and durability. A premium dual colour lock in base makes for easy transport. Made from RC Maker’s signature GeoCarbon, stylish chamfered, black coated and laser engraved brass give a high quality finished look.

RC Maker Digital Caster Gauge Platform for Mi9

New from aftermarket option parts manufacturer RC Maker is this Digital Caster Gauge Platform for the Schumacher Mi9 1:10 Electric Touring Car. This allows you to use an existing digital angle gauge to read the caster on the recently released Mi9. If you have one in camber or caster form from the Awesomatix, you can simply remove the old plate and fasten this new plate onto the caster gauge! It slides on and locates onto the Mi9 with ease, no matter what steering arms you’re using. This allows you to check the caster with or without a setup station attached to the car.

RC Maker SP1 Touring Car – Teaser

RC Maker has just published the first teaser image of its much anticipated 1:10 Electric Touring Car. Ryan Maker, who is behind the well known Australian carbon fibre parts and accessories producer RC Maker, announced his life long ambition to produce his own complete touring car kit at the TITC earlier this year. Racing a well developed prototype of the car at the legendary Bangkok race, Maker has been busy getting the car ready for full production with this image of the car’s suspension the first official image release of the car. Pre-orders and release dates are to be announced in the near future but we can confirm that the image is relative to both the SP1 and SP1-F as they will share the same shock setup etc.

RC Maker MS1.0 Carbon Option Parts

RC Maker, the brand of one of Australia’s leading international touring car racers Ryan Maker, has introduced a number of aftermarket option parts for the recently released Yokomo MS1.0 1:10 Electric Touring Car. The extensive range includes a GeoCarbon Bumper Plate, updated Front Shock Tower and a Rear Body Mount. Additionally they are offering four different options of SlimFlex Carbon Topdeck, the Type 1 and the Type 2 decks offered in 2.0 and 1.6mm thicknesses. Also in its latest product release is a brand new 3D Pro Hood Stiffener, compatible with our GeoCarbon Bumper Mount for Yokomo MS1.0, and a 3D Pro Anti Roll Bar Stopper that works with both the MS1.0 and previous BD12.

RC Maker FlySky Noble GeoCarbon Base

RC Maker has released a new base accessory for the increasingly popular Noble range of radios from FlySky. The GeoCarbon Base for Noble range drastically reduces the weight of your radio when not using the battery base, whilst allowing it to be stood up. The balance can be tuned by inserting one or two optional brass weights to adjust the weight bias of the radio. The Base effortlessly clips on and off for when you need to charge the radio. Anti slip pads in the carbon base stop the radio from sliding around on smooth surfaces. The Base is constructed from 100% Matte 6k Carbon Fibre with RC Maker’s signature GeoCarbon styling and chamfered edges.

Ryan Maker – ‘Using this World stage as a test ground is both the most exciting and nervous thing I have done.’

Growing up I was a huge fan of Formula 1 and always tended to supported the underdogs. Pre-qualifying was my favourite part of the Grand Prix weekend and my favourite team was Zakspeed. That interest in the German team stemmed from an article in an F1 Magazine that compared the Zakspeed team and its budget to that of the all conquering McLaren. In the article it covered how the high cost of wind tunnel testing meant Zakspeed’s small budget forced them to come up with an alternative and they used a water tunnel that was used by boat manufacturers to test hull designs. Racing 1:8 Onroad nitro at the time, in the form of a very basic Team Associated RC250, I was inspired by the Zakspeed story I wanted to build my own R/C car and become a ‘Constructor’.
