Nicholson wins WA Electric Onroad State Titles

Schumacher driver Simon Nicholson has won the Western Australia Electric Onroad State Titles which was hosted by West Coast Model RC over the weekend.  The back to back Australian National Champion arrived late to the event after a cancelled flight and missed half a day of practice.  In qualifying RC Maker’s Jeff Hamon would take the overall TQ.  Topping the opening qualifier Hamon took three of the five rounds with Nicholson taking the other two.  In the triple A-Main, Nicholson would take the first one from Jeffrey Mackie as Hamon struggled with tyres and dropped down the order.  A better A2 would see Hamon get the win from Nicholson by a big margin setting the stage for an A3 decider.  Unfortunately a mistake by Hamon saw him clip Nicholson with Mackie getting the win but overall it was Nicholson who took the title from Hamon with Mackie completing the podium.

Schumacher has introduced a new Hex Rear Wheel System with spool and Gear Diff Option for their Atom 3 in the GT12 Class.  Designed with weight, strength and concentricity in mind, a spool set can offer improved steering in medium and high grip conditions, improved acceleration and a reduction in weight.  Combined with the new Contact V2 Hex Wheel, this set up can provide the ultimate GT12 performance on medium to high grip conditions.  With this set up you can use the new Contact V2 Hex Wheel for Spool or Gear Diff running, no more need to have different wheels and so trying a diff or a spool is more accessible to everyone.  The Hex Wheel Gear Diff Option is best suited for low to medium grip conditions.  With the new wheel it allows for a Gear Diff to be used with just one M4 nut fixing. This is a game changer for club racing because it is now easier and quicker to swap tyres.  Easy to drive and set up and extremely tuneable with the correctly chosen oil.  It has steel axle for strength and reliability.

British manufacturer Schumacher has released a number of new option parts for its TITC debut winning Mi9 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  First up is a new Carbon Fibre lightweight rear shock mount set.  Not only does this set reduce the overall weight of the car, it also provides better body support and is a stronger solution to the standard body mount in a heavy rear end shunt.  On track it gives the car more rear end stability.  Also new is a Carbon Fibre rear top deck brace.  A simple solution to brace the rear top deck for a stiffer rear end flex solution. On track it provides the car with a feeling of more rear traction and improved driveability.  The final option are Brass LiPo hooks for the Mi8, Mi9 and FT9.  Weight a total of 36-grams it keeps a low centre of gravity and aids finding the perfect balance, especially when using Shorty LiPo’s.  The Carbon Fibre piece is used to increase the overall height when the LiPo has a recess on the corner.
