Star Motor infringing copyright?

Star Motor STI

After recently reporting on the Sirio Kanai Evo 3 STI I was made aware of the logo being used by the Italian engine manufacturer Star Motor to display that a motor has been factory modified or as they like to reference it, ‘Sirio Technology Impact’ (STI). This logo as you can see above on the right is a carbon copy of the logo on the left created by world famous Japanese tuning firm ‘Subaru Tecnica International’ (STI) that is famous for tuning Imprezas and other Subaru’s including the World Rally cars. This is a blatant copy of the Japanese company’s logo and an even more blatant attempt by Star Motor to change it slightly to avoid infringing on their trademark.

The new Sirio Kanai Evo 3 STI up close

Sirio Kanai Evo 3 STI

Another scoop for Philip over at Neo-Buggy, this time he’s gotten his muddy paws on some up close and personal shots of the new Sirio Kanai Evo 3 STI. Like we showed you yesterday, this is the latest in a line of special Kanai motors from the Italian engine maker and apparently this engine has already won in the hands of Mr. Kanai at the recent Kyosho Masters in Japan.

Head on over to Neo-Buggy for some more pics.

Sirio Kanai Evo III STI spotted in the wild

Sirio Kanai Evo III

Buggy-Sport have the scoop on the new Sirio Kanai Evo III STI 3.5cc off road motor. Now we don’t know whose car this is in but the engine is seen in a Kyosho buggy and because of the timing we reckon it was taken at last weekends ‘GP International De Pierrefeu‘. Now Sirio employee and Kyosho racer Adrien Bertin was there so we are going to call it and say that this is his car….just like that (we’ll write a correction when found to be wrong :). By the way Adrien finished 9th after some problems in the final.

UPDATE: The car belonged to Stéphane Deroch and you can see him here with his car.

Also seen in the same car was a new Sirio pipe system, which you can be seen over at Buggy-Sport so check that out.
