Exotek now have this carbon fibre mounting strap for the Team Associated B5 buggy available. The “Flite” weighs in at only 6.5g and is therefore almost 4g lighter than the stock part. Added rigidity makes for a secure battery mounting while the design and material used underline the cool factory look.

Following Jesper Rasmussen and Joakim Nicolaisen Team Associated announce the signing of another up and coming Scandinavian talent in the form of Niclas Mansson from Sweden. Niclas is a long standing and loyal Team Associated driver and has committed to the team for 2014. “Mr. Nice” will help spearhead the younger members of the team and brings with him a wealth of experience. Niclas is a well respected, meticulous and likeable young man with exceptional car preparation. This is what Niclas has to say about the deal:
I’ve raced the Team Associated products for many years now and it’s fantastic for me to be part of the Scandinavian team. I’m so excited and cant wait to get my hands on the new cars and have a fantastic summer. Everybody in the team are pumped up and can’t wait to get racing together. Its a fantastic opportunity for me and the rest of the Scandinavian guys to join the team and race the products that are very universal for the tracks here in Europe. I’m really happy with the team set-up and the positive feeling everybody has within the team. Using the Reedy products will also be a huge asset for me when attending some of the large races. PSM introduce two new option parts for the Team Associated B5 and the forthcoming B5M in the form of these carbon fibre shock towers. Coming as “standard” V1 and “pro-tune” V2 version the shock stays are CNC-machined from 5mm glossy finish carbon fibre, they are of an impact-proven design and sport two (V1) and five (V2) optional upper camber link mounting positions for added adjustability. Included with the shock towers comes suitable hardware.

RudeBits introduce this optional LiPo battery holder for the Team Associated B5 buggy. Made from high-quality carbon fibre the mount replaces the kit’s composite brace with a cooler looking and more rigid part. The LiPo hold down is useable with the rear motor B5 and all relevant battery configurations.

Team Associated introduce two new Factory Team tools as well as optional heavy-duty ballstuds for the B5 and B5M buggy. Starting with the tools, available soon are a T-handle 7mm nut driver and a 5.5mm short nut driver. The 7mm wrench is designed for wheel nuts and other 7mm applications while the 5.5mm driver is ideally used for shock nuts and the like. Both tools come hard-anodized and with laser-etched size markings.

During the past weekend’s JConcepts Winter Indoor Nationals at SmacTrac in St Louis, Missouri, Team Associated’s Brent Thielke and JConcepts’ Jason Ruona gave us a first insight into the brand-new Team Associated B5, the follow-up model of the hugely successful B4 buggy. The new platform is based off the design ideas of the B4 but offers a lot more tuning options to make it easier for drivers to adapt the vehicle to different surfaces and track conditions. Being available as rear motor kit first, as it was raced at SmacTrac, there will soon also be a mid motor version for high-bite and European style tracks too. The RSD TC6.2 bumper and brace kit from Reflex Racing is designed to add front end protection to the Team Associated TC6.2 car. By raising and elongating the bumper brace, the brace now butts up against the front bulkhead providing support to the bottom bumper screws, preventing chassis de-lamination in hard frontal collisions. Included in the set are a new foam bumper, the upper carbon fibre bumper brace and mounting hardware.

Team Associated announce that Joakim Nicolaisen has chosen Team Associated and Reedy products to further his racing career in 2014. Joakim is a very talented and diverse driver competing in a whole range of 1/10th scale classes. Known mainly for his off road exploits but not adverse to competing competitively in the on road classes also. A very likeable and conscientious young driver who is continuously moving forward. Joakim is continually improving his skill set and is now one of the more senior members of the race team at a ripe old age of 17. Joakim has a quiet drive and determination when it comes to racing and we love that he a calming influence on the rest of the team. Team Associated welcome Joakim with open arms and look forward to seeing what he can bring to the team in the coming years.
