During this week’s Nuremberg Toyfair Horizon Hobby introduce their new Losi 8ight petrol buggy and 8ight-T petrol truggy 1/8th scale kits. Both are based on the respective ROAR Gas Nationals winning platforms and they are tweaked to take a 5.1cc petrol engine, allowing them to run longer and require less maintenance compared to their nitro fuel powered counterparts. To better accompany the upgraded power and national championship driving characteristics both also come with AVC Active Vehicle Control technology that allows to drive faster with more control and to get the most out of the power and precision gas vehicles. Rounding out the packages is a 2.4GHz Spektrum DX2E transmitter, a 7.4V LiPo receiver battery pack, a starter box  and waterproof Spektrum servos and electronics.

Losi have introduced the 1/5-scale 5ive-T Offroad RTR. This package comes equipped with an AVC enabled 2.4 GHz receiver on board which together with the included Spektrum DX2E transmitter, you’ll be able to push the limit of a 29CC Losi petrol engine and 1/4-scale servos even from a distance. A solid package, the car features large-bore threaded, aluminium shocks with over-sized 7mm shock shafts, a 5mm thick chassis plate based on the 8ight platform, precision cut or formed, heat treated steel gears throughout the drive train, a powerful 2-stroke 26cc petrol engine and an innovative clutch mount and housing that adds strength and durability and provides unmatched heat dissipation for increased longevity of the 8,000 RPM clutch

Losi Ten SCTE Troy Lee Designs RTR

Horizon Hobby introduce the Ten SCTE Troy Lee Designs RTR 4WD short course truck. Based on the 2013 and 2014 ROAR Nationals winning vehicle the kit offers a factory assembled 4WD shaft-driven chassis, sturdy suspension components and full RTR specifications with a 3900kv Dynamite 540-size 4-pole brushless motor, a 130A LiPo-compatible and waterproof Dynamite speed controller, a Spektrum DX2E 2.4GHz radio set and waterproof Spektrum steering servo and electronics. The truck comes including a pre-painted bodyshell rocking the TLD logo and graphics, black and orange beadlock design wheels and grippy racing tyres.

Horizon confirms Drake’s departure

In what came as a major shock to the sport, Horizon Hobby have now officially confirmed the departure of Adam Drake, a driver revered as one of the greatest ambassadors for the TLR brand.  In the official statement they said, ‘Horizon Hobby wishes to thank and acknowledge Adam Drake for his dedication and commitment throughout the years to Team Losi Racing and Horizon Hobby. Adam’s association with Team Losi Racing dates back to the early 1990s and his on-track speed and off-track sportsmanship have been consistent trademarks for over two decades. TLR 22T 2.0 2WD stadium truck kit

The latest TLR 1/10th electric kit to receive the 2.0 treatment is the ROAR Nationals winning 22T stadium truck. The vehicle is heavily based on the previous kit with some refined parts finding their way into the box such as the dual bellcrank steering that replaces the often criticised rack-type steering with an assembly that promises improved steering response and much less slop. Part of the updated steering package are also new caster hubs and new steering knuckles. Also included with the 2.0 are Gen II shock absorbers with machined pistons and X-ring seals for more precise shock absorber action. Other new parts included are updated, wider, rear wishbones for quicker direction changes, new hub carriers and narrower wheel hex adapters as well as matching camber links and CV driveshafts. The package is rounded out by an updated ball differential with tungsten carbide balls and a 10g lighter hard-anodised aluminium main chassis.

Starting with the body, it is made to tailor fit the 22-4 and it comes pre-cut to get you on the track faster. The Phantom originated from the mind of Lee Martin and features a stealthy cab forward look and sweeping body lines that flow back to a single point. Included comes an optional centre fin for improved high-speed stability and a Trifecta rear wing.

TLR 22-4 Castor block ball stud spacers

TLR have just announced the 22-4 Castor block ball stud spacers.  These help to fine tune the front roll center on the 22-4, but they do not interfere with the spindles like the regular ball stud spacers will.
