Our friend Rody Roem at Tecnopower has sent us the bad news that he has had to close down operations due to not being able to generate enough sales for his engines. “TecnoPower is forced to stop the manufacturing of model racing engines for the simple reasons that we are not managing to generate enough sales to cover our costs and so cannot continue our existence as a real manufacturer. TecnoPower will officially close at December 2011”. The company which was started by the former RB front man in 2009 from the remnants of the GRP engine project, produced some good products, but unfortunately entered the market at the wrong time as even the bigger Italian engine manufacturers began to struggle.
Rody Roem’s emerging engine brand TecnoPower has signed big name driver Kazuya Tanaka from Japan. The deal, brokered through national distributor Hirofactory, sees the reigning Japanese National champion and Kyosho factory driver run the Italian made engines. Having already run the motors in testing he is happy with the stability, reliability and believes there is much more torque and top speed than his previous engines.
TecnoPower, the engine brand from former on road World Champion Rody Roem, has announced its 2011 engine line up, which includes 3 new buggy engines, a new truggy engine and an all new line of .21 on road engines. Competition engines made for winners, with the experience of 3 world championship titles inside, the new buggy motors include the top of the line B03 and the new B02 and B02T. The truggy line has the new T02 and for the onroad motors there is the P01 and P02.
TecnoPower have officially announced that they will enter into the extremely competitive and difficult 1/8th scale on-road market with talented young up and coming Italian driver Andrea Lorenzi, who finished 3rd at last year’s Euro B in Monaco. TecnoPower are proud to have Andrea joining them and helping to promote and race their engines. He will not only participate in the upcoming 2011 Italian National championships but also at the 2011 Worlds in Miami USA.
TecnoPower have introduced the first edition of the “Just Better” Truggy range of competition engines. A new engine for proven winners, including the experience of 3 World championship titles inside, the T01-23 Truggy could be considered one of the better .23 size Truggy engines. Featuring a chrome-plated cylinder liner with 5 intakes and 1 exhaust for high durability and long life. A fully machined silicium charged aluminum piston with special designed lubrication rings for low friction properties between the piston and sleeve.
New Italian engine company TecnoPower is on its way to enter the serious buggy competition scene with its freshly released ‘B01’ engine and a new upcoming Portuguese driver called João Gomes, who finished 7th at the 2010 Euro’s Warm up in Portugal.
We are very happy to have João joining us and helping us to promote and race our engines. He will not only participate in the upcoming Euro B but also the Euro A and Worlds in Thailand. We at TecnoPower would like to wish him the best of luck and give our best to support to him during these events and will be present too support technically any other driver who will be using our engines during these events.
Having brought you the first photos and information on the new B01 engine from TecnoPower, the Italian company has released further details about their new buggy motor. The engine features a chrome-plated 5-port liner with 5 intakes and 1 exhaust for high durability and long life, with the fully machined silicon charged aluminium piston sports specially designed lubrication rings for low friction properties between the piston and sleeve. The new developed slide valve carburetor and 7mm venturi allows quick and easy tuning to specific race conditions and to keep things as simple as possible for the user, this specific carburetor has only 3 possible adjustments, high speed-needle, idle-needle and air-screw. The SG, or now also called SPT, style 14mm crankshaft in the B01-21 is made from a special steel containing an unique composition that has been heat-treated, machined and finished to perfection and with no need for extra counter weights it’s also lighter. The special shape of the crankshaft, and specially developed internal diameter, provides a special flux for an optimum fuel-air mixture.
New Italian engine brand TecnoPower, a company headed by engine guru and former World Champion Rody Roem, have informed us that they have successfully finished the first real in-car tests of their new B01 .21 buggy engine. This 5 port turbo engine, due for release later in the year, is the result of months of work by the team involved and we have been promised further details and photos closer to the engine’s release date. In the meantime the testing will continue as the B01 hits the track at this weekend’s Trofeo L.Buffoli in Corte Franca, Italy driven by none other than Rody himself.
