To sum up our exclusive series of stories on Xray’s all-new RX8 2016 1/8th nitro on-road kit, including the making off part 1 and part 2 as well as the exclusive interview with designer Martin Hudy, we now have all details and images of the company’s all-new top-of-the-foodchain 1/8th kit available. The 2016 specification car received a massive make-over that starts with the all-new aluminium backbone in the form of full aluminium bulkheads, layshaft and radio plate mounts to ensure a strong yet lightweight framework while still allowing maximum flex characteristics for increased traction. Beside the bulkheads also the suspension mounts are made up using aluminium for maximised precision and durability.

Teamsaxo T4'16 soft carbon fibre chassis & top deck

Coming from Teamsaxo and made for Xray’s T4’16 electric touring car are a soft carbon fibre main chassis and upper deck. Starting with the chassis, it is cut from high-quality carbon fibre and it sports a total of four cut-outs, front and back of the battery and electronics compartment, to make for more torsional flex than a plain chassis plate. The added flexibility will add traction and drivability in very low grip conditions or when running hard spec tyres.

Bezerk RC XB2 Dirt Edition option parts

For those that are running Xray’s XB2 Dirt Edition 2WD off-road buggy in less-than-ideal conditions, Bezerk RC have introduced two new option parts to fine-tune the buggy for lower grip and bumper track conditions. First up is a 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis that provides a healthy weight saving for Stock racers coming in at 87g while providing some extra flex if track conditions call for it. Also new is a lower tower to add much needed droop to the rear. This increases rear cornering grip and aids in bump handling ability. The tower has been lowered 5mm and geometry corrected so the shock angles remain the same. Made from 4.0mm carbon fibre the tower also looks good while adding strength at the same time. Other heights are also available for those that are in need of in-between sizing.

Spec-R have two new carbon fibre upper decks for the Xray T4’16 available. Coming in a stiffer 2.0mm and more flexible 1.5mm variant the top decks help to fine-tune the flex characteristics of the car especially when running an aluminium main chassis. The separately available top plates are cut from high-quality carbon fibre and a direct replacement for the stock parts.

Xray have introduced an aluminium steering plate for the XB2 line of 2WD buggies. The CNC-machined part is made from 7075-T6 material and it offers increased rigidity and strength for a more precise and aggressive steering feeling. With the horizontally mounted ball studs the steering plate also allows for easy Ackermann geometry adjustments by using more or less shims. The plate comes black anodised for wear and it sports a laser-etched Xray logo.

Xray XB8 2.5mm front anti-roll bar

Filling a gap in the existing range of front anti-roll bars for the Xray XB8 buggy is the new 2.5mm diameter variant. Cut from high-quality, heat-treated spring steel wire and marked for easy identification the 2.5mm variant is the second hardest front swaybar wire in the range and ideal for the use on high-bite surfaces.

Xray T4 black aluminium spring retainers

Coming from Xray and made for the T4 line of touring cars are black aluminium spring retainers. The parts are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium, they sport machined holes for a light weight and the black anodising protects the surface while matching the colour tone of Xray’s optional black shock absorbers at the same time. The retainers are available in sets of four.
