Avid T4'15 aluminium main chassis plate

Avid introduce their 7075-T6 aluminium chassis for the Xray T4’15 touring car. Designed for the use in medium to high-bite conditions the main chassis, cut from 2mm high-quality aluminium, offers several unique features. Compared to Xray’s own alloy chassis the Avid part has several cutouts added and existing diff cutouts enlarged to reduce weight and increase flex while keeping enough material on the sides for the speedo to hold with servo tape. The battery tape on the bottom of the chassis has a cutout slot so it does not interfere with ride height checks or drag on track. The motor pocket width is decreased and is double pocketed to keep as much strength possible. The motor mount flex control hole as been modified with a large bevel on top of chassis to prevent the screw head from hitting chassis while the pinion adjustment hole moved to better access the set screw. The 2mm thickness material also allows for a lower centre of gravity and offers the ability to lower roll centres more than stock. The chassis shape is smoothed to keep droop screw platforms from digging into the track during hard cornering with the chassis being narrowed to 84mm allowing the chassis to roll deeper through a corner.

Raphael Jason Nugroho re-signs with Xray

Xray have announces that young and talented off-road racer Jason Nugroho from Indonesia will continue to race with the Slovakian company in 2015. Jason is a long time Xray supporter and he is a regular podium finisher at all major Asian off-road events. Jason says:

I’m very happy to be part of official Xray team. Xray always make the best quality parts that it make me feel confident to compete at every national and international race. I want to say Thank You for all the supports and the friendships that have been made. I look forward to race with Xray in the next season.

Stu Wood teams up with Xray

Xray has announced the signing of British off-road legend Stu Wood to their 1/10th electric off-road team. Stu will race both the XB4 and XB2 and he will coordinate the UK off-road support. Stu has the following to say:

I would like to thank to Xray for this lifetime opportunity to be part of team which produces the best RC products today. I have competed at all levels of racing from beginner to World Championships and I know what it takes to win and I know I can help the Xray team and they can help me.  I have also had a few years in the retail side of RC and I understand that we have to support anyone on and off the track to promote our products and our sport and as such I am here to help anyone so do not hesitate to ask me for any help.

Zak Finlay rejoins Team Xray

Xray is happy to welcome the young talented British driver Zak Finlay back to Xray team. The multiple UK National and Schumacher BTCC Champion has in previous years successfully raced Xray as a private driver and after short break now returns back to the Xray team. Zak is fully focused on the electric touring racing and will race the T4 in 2015. Zak had this to say:

I am happy to be back at Xray where the best cars and best support is. Having the chance to join the Xray factory team is an amazing opportunity that I could not let pass. Xray’s products and support are of the highest quality and for me to continue to improve and achieve great results, I am proud to be part of their team. Marco Spiniello renews with Xray

Xray has announced that European vice-Champion and top Italian nitro touring car driver Mario Spiniello will continue to race with the Slovakian team in 2015. Mario will race and focus primarily on 1/10th nitro touring cars and he will join the factory team at all the major nitro touring events including the European Championships, the ENS and all Italian races. Mario had the following to say:

I am very happy to stay with the World Championship team for the 2015 season and now after five years racing with Xray I am more than confident in the car and the team as well. The 2016 World Championship will be in Italy and I want to race the best car and represent the best team which is without the doubts Xray and as such I took the opportunity and resigned with Xray for 2015 season. Thanks to Xray for trust in me, I will continue to work as hard as possible to improve my results and racing skills.

Xray XB4 graphite front upper deck

New from Xray comes a 2mm graphite front upper deck for the XB4 buggy. The CNC-machined part is recommended when running the previously released 3mm aluminium chassis and the standard long front upper deck is not used. Included with the deck comes mounting hardware and an additional carbon fibre brace.

Xray X1 soft front springs

Xray have two new front spring sets available for the X1 formula car. Coming as soft C=3.0 and even softer C=2.0 variant the colour-coded springs help to fine-tune the suspension of the car and they add to the already existing range of C=3.5 to C=6.0 springs. Depending on the stiffness the springs come powder-coated for easy identification.

Ari Bakla continues with Xray

Xray has announced the re-signing with multiple Australian National Champion Ari Bakla for the 2015 season. Ari has been the main leader of the Australian Xray team in a variety of classes and with countless victories under his belt. In 2015 Ari will attend in electric touring car, electric off-road and nitro off-road classes and he had the following to say:

To work with the Xray team is a true pleasure, all the racing cars belong to the absolute best in the racing market which allows me and our team to continue to win the races. The 2014 racing season was successful for me and our Australian team and I am sure the 2015 will be another successful year and we will do our best. I will be traveling to all major Australian races to support our Xray team and I will be happy to help anyone, just stop by to see me.
