Xray introduce new optional brake discs for the XB8 1/8th scale buggy. Being of a ventilated design the precision-ground and heat-treated discs are light of weight and they offer vibration-free operation. At the same time they minimise brake pad wear and disc glazing for consistent braking performance even on high speed tracks and during long mains.

Made for the RX8 is this front chassis insert from Xray. Cut from 2.5mm carbon fibre the part is designed to reduce the torsional flex of the front part of the car’s chassis in order to fine-tune the steering characteristics. Included with the insert come suitable fasteners.

New from Exotek and made for the Xray XB4 are 7mm wide 12mm wheel hex adapters for the rear end of the buggy. They are made to fit Team Associated and Kyosho style 12mm hex wheels on the rear of the buggy and make for a wheel width of 243mm which is 4mm narrower than with Exotek’s 9mm offset adapters. The precision machined clamping design hexes are available in Xray orange or black colour and a direct fit.

Coming soon from Xray and just in time for the indoor season is the XB4 2015 Spec 4WD buggy kit. No details are known yet about the features of the latest version of Xray’s European Championships winning car but expect more details to surface very soon.

Coming from Radtec for Xray’s T4 touring car is an aluminium centre steering mount. The brace connects the steering system and the carbon fibre upper deck to adjust the front chassis flex and thus the steering feeling. The part is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminium and comes orange anodised to match the chassis’s other alloy parts.

Coming from ZZRacing and made for the Xray XB4 4WD and 2WD buggies is this aluminium front bumper. The CNC-machined part offers improved rigidity over the standard composite part for better front end protection while adding bling thanks to its orange anodising.

Following our exclusive Xray T4’15 presentation in the form of an in-depth interview with Martin Hudy and hot on the heels of our article about the making of the 2015 specification car we now have the official release available. The car is based around an all-new main 2.2mm thick chassis that is 3mm narrower for now being only 86mm wide. The chassis was designed to accommodate the new motor mount as well as the included ARS rear suspension system – two of the most significant changes with the 2015 model.

Smokem Racing has introduced its range of LCG low centre of gravity chassis for three of the most popular electric tourers on the market as are the Tamiya TRF418, Xray T4’14, Yokomo BD7 2014 and BD7. Made from premium 7075-T6 aluminium for a maximum in durability, Smokem’s LCG chassis feature strategically located cutouts for improved flex characteristics and reduced weight compared to other alloy chassis on the market. At 2mm thick and weighing approximately 25-30g more than the IIX-series of chassis, the LCG chassis will substantially lower the centre of gravity of the tourer and they are ideal for higher traction carpet and asphalt surfaces where traction rolling is a problem. Using the LCG chassis in these conditions will make the car more stable, easier to drive and less “edgy”. The extra flex created by the strategically placed cutouts means that the LCG chassis will also work well on medium traction conditions and with a wider setup window.
