Zeppin Racing TC6.1 & T3 2012 top decks

Zeppin Racing have released new 2mm flex top plates for the Team Associated TC6.1 and Xray T3 2012. The original top plate for the TC6.1 was engineered for firmness and in addition the upper deck is too wide meaning it touches the motor which restricts flexing. This newly designed 2mm thick top deck is 2mm narrower (-1mm each side) to avoid touching the motor, plus extra holes provide a bit more flex in order to improve overall traction. Aiming for more steering on the T3 chassis, they have deliberately made a narrower top deck to increase steering, especially in mid corner.

Xray Column – From XB8 To XB9, part 2

The 59th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives a deeper look into the new XB9 buggy platform in particular the suspension and drivetrain design.

The correct and optimum suspension geometry and the flex of the suspension parts are of course very critical to the handling and performance of a car. For the XB9 we have used the same style and type of suspension which was well proven on the 808 platform, but of course a lot of testing and different prototypes were worked around.

Xray XB808 progressive spring set

Xray have a new progressive spring set for the XB808 off-road buggy available. The ultimate-match front and rear springs sport progressive characteristics for a soft initial feel and increasing hardness while the spring compresses. This makes for a sensitive damper behaviour but enough stiffness to retain a precise overall feeling. The springs are recommended for medium-high traction tracks, are available as a pair, are measured, controlled, inspected and matched to provide identical damping characteristics. The front progressive C=0.7-0.8 mimics a hardness 0.7 spring at the beginning of the compression and a hardness 0.8 spring at the end. The rear progressive C=0.5-0.6 behaves like a hardness 0.5 to hardness 0.6 spring.
