Xray T4 2020 extra-flex aluminium chassis

Made for their popular T4 2020 mid-motor car is Xray’s all-new 2.0mm extra-flex aluminium main chassis. It is machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium with additional machining – compared to the aluminium flex chassis – increasing torsional flex, making the chassis ideal for low-traction carpet or high-traction asphalt tracks. For higher traction carpet tracks though, Xray recommend their existing aluminium flex or full face aluminium chassis. The black anodised extra-flex chassis features machined silver edge details for looks as well as laser-engraved Xray logos.

Xray XB4 +2mm hard suspension arms

Xray have announced the release of their new +2mm front and rear suspension arms for the XB4 1/10th scale 4WD buggy. Moulded from a hard composite material the arms sport a redesigned geometry that will improve handling and increase traction especially over bumpier parts of the track. In addition the design of the front arm, that is usable both on the left and right hand side of the buggy, allows for a greater range of adjustments as the opening for the C-hub is larger for greater wheelbase adjustment possibilities compared to the previous versions. As for the rear arms, that are available separately for the left and right hand side, they allow for variable positioning of the rear shocks. Depending on track conditions, the rear shocks can be installed either in front of or behind the rear shock tower, and the rear shock tower can be placed either in front of or behind the bulkhead. All suspension arms come moulded from a high-quality hard composite material for a balanced performance and exceptional durability.

Xray 12g pure Tungsten chassis balance weight

Xray have introduced their new 12g pure Tungsten chassis balance weight for the T4 2020 mid-motor car. Due to being made of super heavy Tungsten material the weight is smaller than a comparable 12g brass weight, meaning it takes less space, ensuring an ultra low centre of gravity and allowing to fine-tune the car’s weight balance with ease. The weight sports a laser-engraved Xray logo and it is best mounted using ultra-thin double-sided tape.

RC Maker T4’20 SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis

Coming from RC Maker and made for the Xray T4 2020 mid-motor touring car is the new SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis. Tested and developed for over six months by RC Maker’s team drivers, the chassis will offer improved handling especially in low-med traction conditions. A new design sees the chassis narrowed all round to provide less scrubbing in corners, leading to increased corner speed. This increases flex substantially, so to counteract this, the designers have recessed the diff and spool cutouts instead of cutting them all the way through. Not only does this bring the chassis back up to the desired amount of flex, it also improves aerodynamic performance by not preventing air from under the chassis being forced up into the car, detrimental to handling. As well as this, RC Maker have removed the holes for the short arm blocks as they compromise the strength and accuracy of the chassis, and also alter the flex characteristics. Screwing weight to the car is now even easier thanks to the added front weight holes, these can be used to screw RC Maker’s “Weight Shift” front weights to the chassis, giving drivers a place to add weight, whilst also being adjustable left/right. All of these features combined make for a chassis which is easier to drive, with more traction and faster lap times, in both Stock and Modified classes. The chassis is precision cut and countersunk in house in Australia from high quality 3K 2.2mm carbon.

Xray T4 series aluminium steering blocks

Coming from Xray and made for the T4 series of touring cars are new aluminium steering blocks with carbon fibre Ackermann plates. The steering blocks feature an ultra-strong construction that provides a very long life and durability in even the most extreme racing conditions. Composite bushings are used to secure the ball bearings in place which allows the bearings to fit perfectly and spin freely, giving much higher lifetime compared to bearings installed directly into aluminium steering blocks. The graphite extensions mount to the steering block and features the same Ackermann position as the standard composite steering block, however the extensions can be mounted either from the top or bottom. The alloy steering blocks are recommended for high traction conditions as they improve stability and makes the car turn smoother. In addition to using them up front they also fit the rear ARS kit where they allow greater toe in/out gain adjustment possibilities. The set includes the steering blocks, steering plates, ball bearing bushings as well as ball races.

Torpine 1/10th on-road brass screw kits

Coming from Torpine are their new brass screw kits for a range of current on-road touring and FWD cars. The fasteners, intended for the use in the lower areas of the chassis, are precision made from high-quality brass material and due to being heavier than standard steel screws, they help to lower the overall centre of gravity of a car while adding a certain weight. Available are a 52-piece kit for the Xray T4’20, a 39-piece kit for the Xray X1’20, a 59-piece kit for the Awesomatix A800MMX, a 54-piece kit for the Awesomatix A800FX, a 51-piece kit for the Serpent SF4 and a 44-piece kit for the ARC R11F. Also available are 8-piece sets of M3x5mm, M3x10mm and M3x12mm countersunk head screws.

Xray T4’20 ARS aluminium C-hubs

Xray have introduced different aluminium C-hubs to fine-tune the setting of their recently announced ARS system for the T4 2020 kit. Machined from high-quality Swiss 7075-T6 aluminium and coming in 0 degree, 2 degree and 4 degree caster settings, the hubs help to adjust the overall wheel caster and thus available traction and side bite with the 0 degree parts being recommended for medium to high-bite tracks, the 2 degree hubs are best used on medium-low to medium-high conditions and the 4 degree hubs excel in ultra-low to medium traction conditions. The parts feature a black surface coating and the 2 degree and 4 degree hubs are available separately for the left or the right hand side of the car.

Xray T4’20 ARS Active Rear Suspension set

Xray have announced the release of their new ARS Active Rear Suspension set for the T4 2020 mid-motor touring car. The set was developed especially for the latest variant of the T4 and its design makes for a controlled toe-in change of the rear wheels as the chassis rolls during cornering, allowing to adjust the behaviour of the car by fine-tuning over or understeering. The result is an improved handling in a variety of conditions and thus quicker lap times if set up correctly. The set includes zero degree aluminium C-hubs, moulded hard composite steering carriers as well as all needed mounting hardware.
