OfficinaRC T4 2020 crash chassis helper

OfficinaRC have introduced their crash chassis helper for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The 3-D-printed part was developed to be attached to the front bumper upper brace and it helps to brace the bumper against the front bulkhead in the event of a crash, preventing damage such as bent aluminium or delaminated carbon fibre chassis. The part is a direct fit and available from now on.

Xray T4’20 alloy & brass rear chassis braces

Xray have announced the release of two rear chassis braces, machined from aluminium or brass, for the all-new T4 2020 mid-motor touring car kit. The T-shaped braces are designed in a way that allows to access a total of four stiffness settings by using variable amounts of screws and shims to attach the brace in longitudinal and transversal directions. While the lightweight aluminium is mainly used to stiffen up either the carbon fibre or aluminium chassis, the 15g brass variant also helps to fine-tune the weight balance with the brass T-brace being of help especially for higher grip track conditions. The braces are available separately and they include all needed screws and shims.

RC-KleinKram T4’20 carbon fibre motor spacers

RC-KleinKram from Germany have introduced their new carbon fibre motor spacer set for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The newly developed mid-motor car is known to having some top deck and motor clearance issues when running certain pinion and main gear combinations or when using specific motors with no or only a small chamfer on the front end plate. To overcome this, Xray advises to use small shims between the end plate and the motor mount to spacer the motor further away from the top deck. As this can be fiddly to perform and in order to better brace the motor against the motor mount, RC-KleinKram have designed compact 1-piece carbon fibre plates that not only are easier to install but they also allow for better distribution of the forces that can occur during a run. The set includes a machined 2.0mm and and a 3.0mm plate each with both being individually marked for easy identification.

Xray T4 8mm aluminium steering plate

Coming from Xray is their new 8mm steering plate for the T4 series of touring cars. The part was developed to improve cornering speed as it offers less steering response and it is recommended for large asphalt tracks with long sweepers in order to improve cornering speed or for the use on very technical carpet tracks to eliminate oversteering in the chicanes. According to Xray‘s Alexander Hagberg: “[The steering plate offers] smoother initial, but more mid to exit steering”. The bearings are factory pressed into the black anodised high-quality aluminium steering plate which eliminates play in the assembly.

Xray XB4 2020 1/10th 4WD buggy kit

Xray have introduced the 2020 variant of their IFMAR World Championship winning XB4 1/10th 4WD electric buggy kit. The popular vehicle underwent some sort of a redesign for the new season with a longer chassis making for improved stability while a more narrow design in the bulkhead area allows the use of optional longer arms. The gearboxes also saw an update, making them more narrow to make way for the new narrow suspension mounts and thus updated arm positions. A rear gearbox raiser plate improved the gearbox’s position when running in high-bite track conditions and inside the bulkheads operate redesigned gear differentials with larger oil volume, resulting in more consistent performance over a run. Part of the new diff package are also separate new-module crown gears and composite diff covers for better serviceability and a lower weight. Also new in the driveline area are new module crown gears for more efficient operation as well as centre driveshafts with larger 2.5mm cross pins. New, longer front and rear outer driveshafts, an updated motor mount for easier pinion gear access as well as an all-new centre upper graphite brace and a shorter slipper assembly with a wider adjustment range round out the drivetrain package. Other features include new aluminium roll centre mounts on rear uprights with updated roll centre positions, a revised rear graphite shock tower can be mounted from both sides of the gearbox to fine-tune the shock setup weight balance, and reinforced servo saver stands make for improved steering precision while a new shape improves clearance. The kit is rounded out by an improved servo mount system to optimise steering consistency in high traction conditions. The kit has already shipped and should be available by the time you read this.

Bezerk T4’20 long arm chassis & front bumper brace

Bezerk have released first option parts for the all-new Xray T4 2020 touring car in the form of a long-arm-only carbon fibre chassis and a carbon fibre front bumper mount. Starting with the chassis, the designers felt that having the option for long and short arms can make the chassis a bit compromised in the strength department especially for the club racer. That is why the option to running the short arms was dropped and a few other holes for future parts were added. The ’19 front window brace holes have been added back, as well as a couple of extra holes towards the rear for the upcoming chassis braces that allow the use of forthcoming optionals.

RC Maker brass floating battery mounts & battery weight

Coming from RC Maker are new brass optional parts such as floating battery mounts for the Awesomatix A800, Yokomo BD9 and Xray T4 as well as a 33g LCG battery weight plate. Starting with the floating battery mounts, reducing external factors on chassis flex has always been RC Maker’s mission. Chassis flex is one of the most important and sensitive tuning options today, and thats why the company strongly believes it must take all measures to reduce the impact that the electronics may have on chassis flex. The battery is roughly 300g, with a fully flat base contacting the chassis. This, even though it may be loose on the car, will have a detrimental impact on chassis flex. RC Maker’s new brass battery holders float the battery off the deck, and drastically reduce the impact the battery has on the flex of the chassis. The Awesomatix specific mount attaches to all of the Awesomatix model battery mounts, both factory and aftermarket. The Awesomatix mount is also usable on the Xray T4 2017 to 2020 models using optional, non-plastic battery mounts. The Yokomo variant installs directly to both standard plastic, and optional aluminium Yokomo brand battery mounts.
