Zen Racing introduce this diff hub set for 1/12th on-road chassis. The set has been designed to give 1/12th rear wheels a more positive lock to eliminate wheel wobble. Also with the addition of the left hand clamp spider the rear axle weight is far more equal aiding better drive forward and a better balanced rear axle. The hubs also make use of M2.5 screws over the conventional 4-40 fasteners for an easy and simple use track side. All parts are also available separately.
Zen Racing introduce the Zen-RS conversion kit that has been developed to offer the 1/12th racer a wider tuning window and a more neutral balance in all grip conditions. A revised pivot location helps the car to have a stable balance and the new chassis layout incorporates a bellcrank steering system. The bellcrank offers a true Ackerman effect, removes all bump steer if required and the new servo placement makes for a better balanced chassis layout. The battery location is adjustable with the pack being held in position by two LiPo braces which can be moved forwards and backwards in three fixed locations. Also included is the Zen adjustable rear pod and a set of front and rear ride height shims making for a perfectly stable race platform. Servo posts, centre shock mount and rear posts are also included in the conversion with a final update in the form of a diff thrust bearing. The thrust bearing and spacer take away the side load from the outer diff ball race offering better consistency and diff action under high loads. To complete the conversion an R5 based front end, side links, rear pivot and side spring set-up, AE centre and side shock, body posts and rear axle are needed.
Zen Racing today announced that multiple World Champion David Spashett, has teamed up with the UK company in order to build-up a team of talented racers and to bring new products under the Zen Racing brand. David, who recently left Horizon Hobby after many years of being with the firm, has this to say about his new venture:
It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce my involvement with Zen-racing. This new venture will give me the opportunity to work with some very dedicated and enthusiastic racers and Racing companies from all over the world. This new opportunity will also give me the time to develop new ideas with the team and bring products to market under the Zen band name. A common goal to enjoy what we do and to the highest standards possible, a new challenge to build a fresh young race team in the on-road racing market and to hopefully find the next generation of super stars.
New from Zen Racing come ride height shims for the R5 1/12th chassis. They offer the same fine steps as the rear shim sets, giving adjustment all the way down to 0.15 mm. The slots have been arranged at 90 degrees to each other allowing for rapid fitment in racing conditions and the shims come in sets of ten.
Zen-Racing have launched a new rear pod assembly for the most popular 1/12 cars on the market. The rear motor mount and suspension part is made from high-quality 2.5mm carbon fibre and aerospace-quality aluminium. It is of a full box design to keep the pod rigid and square under the extreme forces of the modern brushless motors. Existing rear pods with plastic ride height adjusters can distort under the torque from the motor, the Zen option stops this and it also incorporates a sliding ride height adjustment for the rear axle doing away with the need to remove the shaft to adjust the ground clearance. An optional carbon shim set is also available offering adjustment steps down to 0.15mm. The upgrade part is available for Associated, Yokomo, CRC, Serpent and other chassis.
