Iwahara wins at Red Carpet Series Rd3

The third round of the Red Carpet on-road series was held by the Red Carpet Hobbyshop in Semarang, Thailand. The series is run in a Super Stock 10.5T class and saw the attendance of 21 drivers. Because of rain the organisers had to cancel the third and final round of the mains handing the win to Serpent driver Iwahara after two A-finals in front of Andre Frandong (Spec-R) and Jon Ambar (Hot Bodies). Donie W (Serpent) rounded out the top 4.

Alberto Garcia wins Spanish Truggy nationals

Last weekend the Spanish 1/8th Truggy nationals tool place. After not being able to participate in the practice rounds Serpent’s Alberto Garcia made the maximum out of the limited track time and TQ’d qualifying round 1 and 3 to take the overall TQ for the 60 minute final. In the first part of the A-main Alberto was in a hard battle with Javier Pombo but a mistake of the Mugen driver made way for Alberto who was then able to cruise to the overall victory. The runner-up spot went to Javier (Mugen) with Daniel Vega (Agama) completing the podium.

Robert Batlle wins Spanish 2WD buggy championship

The Spanish 2WD Electric Buggy nationals took place at the RC Hobby Garden track in Sant Cugat. Qualifying on the challenging clay track saw Robert Battle taking the TQ honours from Juanma Lerma who TQ’s two of the five rounds. Carlos Pineda was in third position after the qualifiers and one of the few drivers who could really challenge Robert and Juanma. In the finals Robert made a clean sweep by winning A-final 1 and 2 handing him the 2013 2WD Buggy title early. Juanma Lerma only came in fifth position in A1 but recovered in A2 and A3 taking the runner-up spot in front of Carlos Pineda who completed the podium.

DHI Cup 2014 – Announcement

DHI Cup 2014 – Announcement

The 2014 DHI Cup will be held from the weekend of the 10th to 12th of January 2014 in Odense, Denmark. As in previous years there will also be an off-road race run alongside the traditional touring car race. The classes will be Touring Car Modified and “blinky” 13.5T Super Stock with LRP motors. Off-Road will be run in 2WD and 4WD. The race will be under control of Hartmut Wenzel and David Church and registration opens Monday the 14th of October on myrcm.com. Perfect race nets Sahashi World title

Perfect race nets Sahashi World title

A perfect 60-minute display of driving netted Tadahiko Sahashi the 1:8 Onroad World title this evening in Japan.  Making his World Championship final debut, the Serpent driver cruised to victory to becomes the 11th driver to lift the biggest prize in the sport’s oldest category taking a comfortable win over the Mugen/OS pairing of Takaaki Shimo and Atsushi Hara.  The 19th running of the World Championship, Sahashi’s win marks Italian manufacturer Picco’s first World title in the sport’s Formula One category and the first title for Serpent since 1997.  In the pitlane it was Picco’s Eduardo Picco and Serpent designer Michael Salven who ensured perfect fuel & tyre stops en route to the 24-year-old taking a hugely popular win.

Sahashi on pole for World Championship Final

Team Serpent’s Tadahiko Sahashi will start the 1:8 Onroad World Championship final at KeiTune Racing Speedway in Japan from pole position after the Top Qualifier took a faster win in the second Semi-Final than Takaaki Shimo managed in opening 30-minute encounter.  Starting from the front Sahasi lead from start to finish, the only blotch in the near perfect run being the loss of a rear wheel off his Picco powered 977 when he was released from his tyre stop.  Such was the Japanese drivers lead however once the rest of the field completed their tyre stops he was back in front eventually taking the win by over a lap from Atsushi Hara and HB’s Teemu Leino.  The story of the race however was the recovery drive from European Champion Jilles Groskamp.
