Team Durango off-road Winter series reminder

Team Durango got in touch to remind everyone that there are only a few places left for this weekend’s Team Durango off-road Winter series. Taking place at Ardent Raceway there are limited spaces in the 3 different classes, 4wd, 2wd and Short Course so if you want to race, make sure you enter as soon as possible. Justin Driemeier wins ROAR Region 8 Champs

Justin Driemeier wins ROAR Region 8 Champs

The 2010 ROAR Region 8 Championships were held this past weekend at SmacTrack in St Charles, MO, near St. Louis, and X Factory’s Justin Driemeier TQ’d modified buggy, truck and short course.  Driemeier went on to win the first two A mains in both buggy, with his X-6 Squared, and truck with his X-60, finishing third in SC with an SCX-60. Region 8 includes Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska, so there were lots of top sponsored drivers there. Joe Buckley was in the A in mod truck (X-60) and SC (SCX-60) and took 4th in the mod buggy B (X-6 Sq). Also, X-Teamer Lendel Smith from Arkansas drove his X-6 Sq to fourth in stock buggy and his X -60 to third in stock truck. Smith also took second in stock SC driving his SCX-60.

Giorgio de Felici wins 2010 Novarossi Trophy

The 2010 Novarossi Trophy took place this weekend in Gubbio, Italy, host of the 2009 1/10th scale 200mm European Championships. The 1/10th 200mm qualifying went the way of Biagio Spataro who took the pole position ahead of Daniele Agostelli in 2nd. The final went the way of new Capricorn signing Giorgio de Felici running his Novarossi powered LAB-C01, who in his first race for his new sponsors took the win by 5 seconds from 2nd place Ciro Borrelli, with Dante Piersante a further 4 seconds back.

Stockman & Vekemans take Rd8, Bultynck takes title

The 8th and final race of the Belgian Electric touring car nationals was run last weekend in Genk at the new MRG track. Olivier Bultynck has to come in as third if Thomas Stockman took the win to take the title. In the qualification of the EFRA class was a battle between Nick Joosens, Thomas Stockman and Olivier Bultynck for the first place on the grid. Olivier managed to take TQ in front of Thomas and Rico Claeys on the third spot. Nick Joosens and Jonathan Prouvosq were on fourth and fifth spot. Thomas would go on to win all 3 legs of the A-main to take the overall race win but Olivier took 2nd which was enough to claim the 2010 title, Nick Joosens finished in 3rd. In the Superstock class it was again Geoffrey Vekemans who took the overall win, despite qualifying in 6th spot. Werner Broeckx took second and Stefan Rommens in 3rd. In the stock class Kristof Dewitte took the win from Krist Bultynck in 2nd and Dany Naegels 3rd.

JR Mitch does double at FSS season opener

This year’s Florida State Series started off at the historic Lake Park in Lutz, Florida (Tampa) recently. Over one hundred of the fastest racers in Florida, came out to start the quest of being crowned this year’s Florida State Champion. JConcepts Team driver JR Mitch was in attendance and was surely one of the favorites this year. You wouldn’t be able to find better weather or track conditions anywhere in the country. With the hot Florida sun beating down on the track, a black groove quickly formed on the track, with more traction then you could ask for. The track crew at Lake Park threw a few curve balls at the drivers, with some tight off camber turns and a huge table top in front of the drivers stand.

Spanish Electric buggy Nationals Rd4

The fourth and final round Spanish National Series (SNS 2010) for electric buggies was hosted this past weekend by the Club Rueda Loca in León, in the north-east of Spain. The race saw a good attendance with almost 100 drivers signing up in the two categories, 4wd and 2wd. On Saturday the 4wd event was held under sunny skies and saw four drivers battle it out for the victory. Local B44 driver Miguel Santos took the win, in front of David Bustos in second with a Durango and Zacarias Villalba in third with another B44. The 2wd event was held on Sunday under perfect weather conditions. Yet again another local driver, Jona Reguera won, taking benefit in good knowledge of the difficult track. In second place, Associated driver Zacarias Villalba and in third Kike Fuciños with Kyosho.

Marc Esbri wins Spanish TC Nats Rd4

Last weekend saw the 4th and final electric touring car championship race at Spain’s Villareal track, host of the 2008 European Championships. Victory in the modified class went to Schumacher racer Marc Esbri ahead of the Tamiya of Vicente Eres, with another Schumacher driver Luis Coundes 3rd. In the stock class it was Xray driver Roberto Hernandez that took the win from the Schumacher pairing of Miguel Moreno and Salvador Gregorie in 2nd and 3rd.

Shaun Dunlap takes 2 at Electric Championship Tour Rd1

The first stop for the 2010 Electric Championship Tour was held at Four Season’s Raceway in Olympia, Washington on October 16th, 2010. The ECT is a 6 race series that visits a different track each month. The best 4 out of 6 races are used to determine the Champion for each class. The 2wd Modified Buggy Class is the premier class for the ECT. This class always averages the most entries throughout the series in the modified division. After qualifying and the lower main bump-ups were complete, Kyosho would have 6 cars out of 10 in the A-Main. Triple A-Mains would then be run to decide the overall winner for round 1.
