EFRA Euros for Off road to be re scheduled?

EFRA

According to a report by Philip over at Neo Buggy, the European A Championships for 1/8th scale off road, that is being held in France this summer, is to be rescheduled due to a clash with the Tour de France. The problem is “A clash with the Tour de France in the proximity of the hosting city Auxerre would create massive problems with hotels etc.”. This seems to me to be just bad planning on behalf of the organisers to have just overlooked something like this. We will learn more soon and keep you informed.

RC Pro Series moves into the Caribbean

RC Pro Series

The guys at RC Pro Series sent us a mail informing us of their expansion into the Caribbean. This is the full announcement:

“RC Pro is proud to announce the formation of the new Caribbean Division for the Nitro Offroad Series. The RC Pro would like to welcome Rafael Sabatier as the Caribbean Director. Rafael is located in Puerto Rico and will be setting up the schedule, working with the tracks and officiating the RC Pro events in the Caribbean. We at RC Pro look forward to working with the existing organizations in the Caribbean to promote the hobby to the general public and give the racers and tracks more worldwide exposure. This new division will run in the points series like all divisions and receive invitations to the National Finals. As of this year racers in RC Pro can score national points in any division. Division points for a division championship can only be scored in your division though. This means you can now schedule a racing vacation in the Caribbean and still score RC Pro points!”

ROAR release their 2007 rule book

ROAR

Something of interest to our US readers, or at least those that still take part in ROAR sanction events. The US governing body, ROAR, have made their updated 2007 rulebook available to download from their site.

Among the welcome changes are the updated vehicle diagrams supplied by John Kelishes at ProLine, a long-standing ROAR affiliate. These really look sharp. Thanks John and ProLine! Also thanks go to EFRA for supplying the great looking dimensioning diagrams which are now being used worldwide on 200mm touring cars.

Download the rulebook from this page.

ROAR continue with 6 cells for 2007

ROAR

US governing body ROAR have made a final decision to use 6 cells in their sanctioned electric events for 2007 after playing around with the idea of running 4 cell for the new season. This move away from 6 cells caused much heated debate on internet forums and in the end it was decided by ROAR that not enough was known about the implication of such changes and as such they will stay with the current configuration for next year.

At this time ROAR has determined that there is not enough information to make an informed decision as to the best direction to take in 2007. Regarding the number of cells in all classes there will be no change to the existing rules. ROAR will monitor the international developments of four and five cell racing and after careful evaluation, make its determination for the 2008 rules when appropriate.
