Muchmore Fleta M8 competition brushless ESC

Coming soon from Muchmore is the Fleta M8 sensored brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale vehicles. Housed in a machined aluminium case with incorporated Flow-Max heat sink the speedo is usable with up to 6S LiPo batteries, it can handle 2 to 6-pole sensored and sensorless motors and sports an adjustable high-voltage BEC system with up to 7.2V/6A output. An ultra high RPM fan with fan guard keeps the running temperatures low and the controller is highly adjustable using Muchmore’s Super High Response program card.

Vigor RC aluminium ESC fan protector & heat sink

Vigor RC have introduced a new fan protector and heat sink for the fans of electronic speed controllers. CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium and coming black anodised and with machined silver details the add-on protectors are meant to increase the airflow pressure while adding cooling surface, which can lead to an eight to ten percent lower ESC temperature. The protector is available for 25mm and 30mm fans.

Coming soon is Hobbywing’s all-new XR10 Pro brushless speed controller for 1/10th scale applications. Developed in co-operation with Hobbywing North America the ESC was on show during last weekend’s Reedy Race of Champions and it was designed with both modified and stock racing in mind. It features a redesigned all-alloy can, a new processor and it is meant to be better in all aspects as it offers an even wider adjustment range, better and more adjustable brakes, and improved throttle response for both modified and stock racing. New to the XR10 Pro are also special modified racing throttle profiles. The XR10 Pro will become available this Spring.

Yuki Model Unreal 45A brushed speed controller

Yuki Model have introduced the Unreal 45A brushed speed controller for 1/10th scale vehicles. The ESC is usable with up to 3S LiPo batteries or 5 to 10 cell NiMH batteries, it can handle up to 340A peak current and its internal BEC system delivers 5.6V of output voltage and a current of 2A. The safety features of the speedo that, measures 47x38x4mm, include a low-voltage and over-temperature cut-off and it comes pre-wired with Tamiya-compatible battery and motor connectors.

Reds Racing have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming 1/8th scale brushless speed controller. The device seems to sport an all-aluminium case with separated areas for the motor and battery wires on opposite sides of the speedo. Also visible is a finely ripped heatsink with fan unit as well as an aluminium fan guards to keep rocks and debris away. More information and images should become available soon.

Reedy Blackbox 800Z zero timing speed controller

New from Reedy comes the Blackbox 800Z zero timing sensored brushless competition speed controller, a simple to use, economical, and powerful ESC for Spec class racers. The speedo was designed to offer excellent throttle and brake feel, a wide range of adjustability, and robust hardware. The compact, lightweight plastic housing with low-profile heatsink makes fitting the controller easy even in tight surroundings. The ESC comes pre-wired with 13 gauge wire and solder tabs make wire replacement easy while the on-board, single button programming allows to fine-tune parameters such as the drag brake, power profile, the drive and brake frequency.

All Japan Hobby Show – Miscellaneous

As for the miscellaneous bits and pieces, Futaba have the forthcoming 4PXR 2.4GHz pistol grip radio on show. The top of the foodchain transmitter is meant to be again faster than the already swift 4PX that was introduced not long ago. The R’s case features what appears to be a dark chrome coating although we are unsure if that’s just a gizmo for the show, as we doubt a chrome transmitter case will make you many friends on the rostrum. Features aren’t available yet nor is a release date but, like previously mentioned, we will keep you posted on any news.
