Matrix Evolution Spec Racing ESC

Nosram have developed a new speed control, designed specifically for stock racing. The Matrix Evolution Spec Racing features new hardware and new special software with 4 “Spec Racing” stock profiles to extract maximum performance out of your spec racing motor. Compared to ordinary brushless modified speed controls, this ESC gives significantly higher RPM and torque from any brushless stock motor, regardless of the winding. In addition to this it also features 4 power profiles perfectly suited to modified racing. This allows you to run at the highest competition level in whatever class you want, whether you will want to run in stock or modified racing, or with NiMH, NiCd or LiPo.

Team Orion Vortex Race Spec BL ESC

First seen on Red RC during our coverage from Thailand, Team Orion have officially announced the Vortex Race Spec BL ESC, a brushless speed controller designed for racers. It features a variable frequency system, a unique system that is responsible for the super smooth response of the controller through optimizing the driving frequency in relation to the throttle position. This ESC also sports an ultra low profile design, which has been achieved by designing the electronic components to be as flat as possible and by positioning them as low as possible. The Race Spec Controller comes with 5 pre-set setups which have been optimized by their international racing team and these settings work the best for the most popular categories. For pro’s who want to adapt the setups, it is possible to do so using a special USB cable and software. The brushless sensor technology is ready for motors with at least 4.5 turns (without fan) and 2.5 turn motors with fan and you can buy the controller with and without cooling set.

LRP SXX Competition prototype ESC

Seen in the pits at the Worlds in Thailand is the new prototype ESC from LRP, called the SXX. Much smaller than the previously available Sphere TC spec ESC, the new controller uses a metal plate set into a plastic frame, to which a heatsink fan combo can be applied but currently isn’t necessary for the 4 cell 1:12th scale class. The new ESC, which is also here in Nosram colours, features a revolutionary copper core cooling technology to keep the internals at a low temperature, while the controller software now has 10 power profiles to select from for finer adjustment of power delivery. Also new is what the company calls X.Brake which provides stronger braking, and it too has 10 adjustment settings which can be set by the 2 new externally mounted buttons.
