Novak 4 cell transponder voltage booster

Novak 4 cell transponder voltage booster

This is a neat little thing from Novak, its a 4 cell transponder voltage booster which basically ensures that your 4 cell powered vehicle always has enough power for the transponder because after all theres no point in having power to continue your race if your laps aren’t being counted. Available in January 2007.

The module connects between the vehicle’s transponder and the receiver, and boosts voltage to the transponder for consistent lap counting—even when the battery pack is dumped.

Velocity Racing Battery Warmer 2

Velocity Racing battery warmer 2

This is the Battery Warmer 2 from Velocity Racing, i didnt now there was a 1 but now im pretty sure there was. Now this technology was completely lost on me when i saw it first and i still dont see the sense but at least i now understand the theory behind. After you’ve nicely charged the batteries you can keep them nice and toasty in your electric powered cell warmer up until just before they go in the car to go onto the track. The theory behind heating your batteries is that it reduces resistance in the cells, but i am told that with cell capacities at what they are now this really isnt necessary, perhaps if you race outdoors in winter……..on ice……..in Canada…….at night. Its available in two version, one with external power leads and one deisgned to be powered internally.

Motor Maniac handy commutator cleaner

Motor Maniac handy commutator cleaner

This thing is really cool and simple, it takes an existing product, like the comm cleaning stick and makes it better. If the comm cleaning stick is a bit of a pain to use or you don’t have a commutator lathe, then this thing is a great solution. It comes supplied with a handle to turn the commutator, and all you do is place the supplied grinding stone into the space where the brush on your motor goes and the supplied spring keeps the correct pressure on it, then you turn the handle and it grinds the end of the commutator.
