Blaze Racing T4 alloy chassis & brass arm mount

Blaze Racing T4 alloy chassis & brass arm mount

Polish company Blaze Racing has introduced an aluminium main chassis plate for the Xray T4 as well as a brass front arm mount. Starting with the chassis, the part is cut from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminium and it features angled cut-outs in the battery and electronics area to improve torsional flex compared to the usual full-surface chassis. This can help to gain traction and cornerspeed especially in medium-grip conditions. The chassis comes in natural colour but further customisation with anodising or engravings are possible. The second new part is the brass front arm mount. The FF part is designed to work with the original composite suspension inserts and it is a welcomed tuning option for medium-high to high traction conditions. Both parts will become available very soon.

TLR 8ight-T 4.0 1/8th nitro truggy kit

TLR 8ight-T 4.0 1/8th nitro truggy kit

Team Losi Racing have introduced the latest incarnation of their successful 8ight-T platform, the 8ight-T 4.0. The 1/8th nitro race truggy received a subtle make-over with the vehicle sporting a new suspension geometry and drivetrain refinements. The updated suspension geometry makes it easier for drivers of all experience levels to turn faster lap times with fewer mistakes, particularly during brutal, hour-long mains while the engine has been repositioned to reduce the front centre driveshaft angle so more power makes it to the front wheels. Another change to the suspension are shorter suspension arms that narrow the track width by 5.5mm on each side. This benefits handling on tight sections of the track by making the vehicle more dynamic and allowing it to transition from one direction to the other more quickly while new, machined aluminium shock towers have new camber link and shock location holes that give racers more tuning options for changing track conditions.

AKA Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre

AKA Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre

Coming soon from AKA is the Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre. Designed with durability and stability in mind for today’s high wear and high grip tracks, the Zipps features a very dense symmetrical block tread pattern with a centre staggered rib. The dense block pattern puts as much rubber on track as possible while still allowing dust to clear from the tyre patch.  This enables superior wear and stability while remaining controllable off line in the dust. The centre rib decreases rolling resistance on the straights and creates a very stable platform in the centre of the tyre. AKA have also updated the block design to allow for more deflection which allows the block to flex a bit more front to rear to gain forward bite while still remaining stable side to side. The tyre will be available in soft, super soft, long wear soft and long wear medium compounds.

Losi teases new off-road vehicle

Losi teases new off-road vehicle

Losi have released the teaser image of a forthcoming new off-road vehicle. With Losi being Horizon Hobby’s high-quality “basher” brand, the car in question will likely not be a competition offering but a high-performance hobby product. Information about the vehicle are not existing so far beside the above teaser image. Update: In the meantime a better image appeared on Losi’s official website, showing either a Ten-SCTE based 4WD off-road buggy with a futuristic buggy bodyshell, beadlock wheels and a large rear wing. More information should surface soon as the kit, likely called the Ten-SCBE, is on show during this weekend’s Motorama show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
