Protoform today released a teaser image sporting a blurred-out “6” starting rumours that there is a new Mazdaspeed 6 in the making. The current incarnation of PF’s Mazda 6 is a bit “aging” although still the number one choice for many racers on both carpet and asphalt tracks. Xray introduce these graphite reinforced 2-speed gears for the NT1 200mm nitro car. The all-new material is lightweight and extremely strong making for added durability and minimal wear. Some weeks ago Team C released a first rendering of their upcoming TM4 4WD electric off-road buggy and today a first image of what appears to be the production prototype is available. The buggy makes use of the tried and tested T4 suspension components and big bore shock absorbers but everything in between is new. Given the photo the TM4 makes use of an aluminium main chassis with carbon fibre upper deck and the overall design sees the motor and speed controller as well as the shorty LiPo battery pack being located in the rear part of the chassis while the steering servo and receiver will find a home up front. The somewhat unconventional weight distribution is meant to calm the buggy down, allowing for higher corner speeds and a lighter overall weight. New from King Headz for the Losi Ten SCTE is this steering top plate which has been CNC machined from 7075 aircraft grade aluminium. Black anodized it is designed to increase the rigidity between the top plate and the front shock tower. The upper shock tower bolts screw into the upper plate and will eliminate the chance of the upper plate screws being pulled out of the bulkhead in a bad crash.

Following the release of first images of Tamiya’s upcoming TRF418 touring car tamiyablog.com captured some of the other Tamiya Fall 2013 news. First up is the highly anticipated 2013 Egress, the re-release of the iconic 1989 4WD buggy based on the Avante. The 2013 edition will feature some updated parts in order to improve the rigidity and durability of the drivetrain and suspension allowing to use modern motor and battery technology to power the vehicle. The kit will include updated ball differentials, universal driveshafts, new rear suspension mounts and some other refinements as well as the original Egress body shell and an updated decal sheet. There is no release date yet but expect the kit to hit the shops well before Christmas.

New from LRP comes the Screamer-93 1/8th off-road exhaust system. The 3-chamber EFRA2109 pipe is designed to make for a more linear power curve and more controllable throttle action while increasing fuel economy at the same time. Included with the set that works with most of today’s 1/8th off-road engines come a suitable manifold, silicone gaskets and mounting springs.

Coming soon from Team C are option parts for the TC10 touring car in the form of titanium turnbuckles and flanged aluminium wheel nuts. Starting with the turnbuckles they are made from titanium and designed to replace the kit’s steel links with lighter and more durable parts. They are available as 30mm version for the camber links and 40mm variant for the steering rods. Also new are M4 flanged wheel nuts. They are made from aluminium, come with a serrated surface that grips into the rim for secure fastening and not only fit the TC10 but all vehicles that use M4 nuts to hold the wheels.

Kyosho have released images of their soon to be released Ultima RT6 2wd Stadium truck. Seen in the hands of Jared Tebo in recent months the new truck has already claimed the 2013 National title. Essentially a truck version of the new RB6 buggy the chassis is hard anodised aluminium, it allows both mid and rear motor configuration and is compatible with various types of battery packs. Rear gull wing type lower suspension arms offer efficient grip while the proven RB6 steering crank system allowing linear controls is also included. Other items included are velvet coated big bore shocks, X-Gear Ball diff grease, hi-graphite grease and shock springs.
