Associated RC8 option parts

Associated RC8 option parts

Associated have released a number of new parts for the RC8 line of vehicles. First up are these lightweight drive train parts which have been machined to reduce weight to help the performance of the car. The parts getting this treatment are the diff ring gear and the 44T spur gear. Also new are these precision-machined, tapered Delrin pistons for the 16mm Big Bore shocks. The team set out to improve over the 10 x 1.1 piston setup with damping characteristics that also excelled when the track got bumpy. Extensive testing showed that by drilling out 5 of the 10 holes larger, the damping provided the best of both worlds. The larger 1.2mm or 1.3mm allow for better low speed damping over bumps, while still keeping the great smooth track handling characteristics of the smaller 1.1 hole setups.

Team Durango DEX408 1/8th BL buggy

Team Durango DEX408 1/8th BL buggy

Having brought you some teaser and prototype shots of the new brushless Durango 1/8th scale, the company have today released the complete details on the DEX408. It has been specifically designed for this class with careful consideration of the electric-specific weight distribution requirements, the DEX408 makes no compromises. In order to achieve optimum weight distribution (with a near perfect 50/50 front-to-rear), they kept the chassis narrow, whilst allowing enough room for many of today’s most popular electrics and electronics. With a narrow chassis design, the DEX408 is nimble like its smaller DEX410 cousin, and it is easy to wrench-on in-between races. The ESC has been centrally positioned on its own composite platform, opposite which is a smaller platform for your Personal Transponder. Specially designed hook-and-loop straps secure the batteries to the chassis via the all-new composite side rails. Easy-access front and rear differentials are retained from the DEX408s nitro brother (DNX408), as are the race-proven wishbones and shock absorbers while the composite spur gear cover has a dedicated clip to hold motor and ESC wires tidily.

Sonic V.21T 3.5cc on-road engine

Sonic V.21T 3.5cc on-road engine

In a few days Sonic Nitro Engines will release the all new Sonic V.21T 3.5cc on-road engine which is produced by Picco Micromotori and all components have been made from the finest materials to ensure high durability and reliability. The 14mm turbo crankshaft is equipped with two high density weights to improve the overall balancing and filled with a silicone insert to reduce the inertia and improve the fuel flow. The special back plate, the optimized crankcase and the “knife edged” aerodynamic connecting rod help even more to reduce turbulence inside the engine. A special turbo combustion chamber with a cooling fin and the super lightweight cooling head ensure best heat dispersion to keep the engine temperature at a moderate level. High quality Swiss ball bearings, a modern composite valve carburetor and two aluminium venturis (8mm + 9mm) complete this new high competition engine.
