KO Propo Electrical Switch 3

KO Propo have introduced their new Electric Switch 3, an electronic on/off switch for nitro and gas-powered RC cars. The compact device measures 39.2×17.5×9.5mm and it weighs in at 10g. A two digit LC display allows to monitor the current and minimum receiver battery voltage and a LiPo protection mode ensures Lithium-Polymer-based batteries will not get deep discharged during operation. In addition the internal CPU will ensure maximum safety by preventing sudden connection looses due to voltage drops or overload. The translucent case ensures good visibility of all operation parameters and two mounting lashes make installation easy. The switch works with most transmitters and receivers and it is available from end of September.

Etronix introduce new servo range

Etronix have introduced their new servo range for virtually every RC application. Of use for the RC car community are items such as the ET2036 (0.09s/9.5kg-cm) coreless low-profile and ET2035 (0.11s/8.2kg-cm) low-profile servo as well as the standard sized-and coreless-powered ET2063 (0.10s/32,2kg-cm), ET2062 (0.12s/20.3kg-cm), ET2061 (0.09s/15.8kg-cm), and ET2060 (0.07s/11.2kg-cm) offerings. The latter are 8.4V high-voltage compatible, making them ideal for 1/8th and 1/10th nitro applications. Two other servos worth mentioning are the ET2070 (0.16s/21.8kg-cm) and ET2072 (0.09s/30.3kg-cm). Both are water-proof, they feature metal gears and the ET2072 is a coreless motor HV variant for added performance.

Spektrum DX5 Pro 5-channel radio system

Coming soon from Spektrum is their new DX5 Pro 5-channel DSMR radio system. The transmitter features a new ergonomics package that allows the user to adapt the radio to better suits personal needs while a redesigned steering mechanism eliminates the centre dead zone and an updated throttle trigger with increased throw and resolutions ensures improved throttle and brake control. Included with the transmitter comes the popular drop down steering wheel conversion with 10 degrees and 15 degrees steering adapters, a small steering wheel is includes as are a 36 degrees steering cam option, multiple grip sizes and the radio allows for adjustable trigger and steering tension as well as an adjustable fore/aft and left/right trigger position adaption. Other features include built-in telemetry, advanced programming with additional mixing setups and it also sports pre-programmed Losi vehicle memories for the DBXL-E, Super Baja Ray, 3XL-E, Tenacity SCT, MT and T. The package is rounded out by the recently introduced antenna-less SR2100 receiver.

ProTek 155 series high-voltage servos

ProTek RC have announced two powerful high-voltage, digital servos in the form of the 155T and 155S. They are usable for both 1/10th scale and 1/8th scale applications and feature precisely machined cases with deep, machined cuts in the lower cases that work as a heatsink to provide additional cooling. The 155T (0.08s/32.6kg-cm) and 155S (0.06s/26.6kg-cm) servos are ProTek’s first to feature a conformal coating – a thin layer of polymeric film that contours to the printed circuit board to protect against vibrations, moisture, dust, chemicals and extreme temperatures. Both servos operate from 4.8 to 7.4V, so they can easily handle high voltage input when conditions warrant maximum speed and torque. Other features include powerful coreless motors, metal gears and black receiver wires for that factory look.
