Win for Bloomfield at BRCA 2wd Nats Rd1

Vampire Racing’s Darren Bloomfield was on fire at the recent first round of the 2013 BRCA electric off-road nationals. He TQ’d the rain affected 2WD race on Saturday with his Vampire Racing-powered TLR 22 buggy. Darren was able to take a clean win in A final one and two handing him the day’s win in front of Schumacher Racing’s Simon Moss and Team Associated’s Neil Cragg. Darren used Vampire Racing’s new Type AB+ V2 brushless motors, the SR1+ speed controller and Vampire Racing’s latest 2013 spec LiPo batteries to win in style.

Yannick Aigoin double at French EP Nats Rd2

Last weekend the LVDM Club organised the 2nd round of the French 1/10th EP buggy nationals. In the 2wd class it would be Associated/Orion driver Yannick Aigoin that would take the overall victory, with wins in the first 2 legs to take home the victory ahead of Antoine Rossetti in 2nd for Durango and Alexandre Desbrosses 3rd for X-Factory. In the 4wd class Yannick would TQ and win again to complete the perfect weekend ahead of Xray driver Lorenzo Crolla in 2nd and Antoine Rossetti in 3rd.

Andy Moore wins Gloucester Quays Grand Prix

Organised by the touring car section of the BRCA the Gloucester Quays Grand Prix took place at the weekend and saw victory in the race of champions section for Hot Bodies driver Andy Moore. The grand prix was held in a shopping centre and due to its high profile nature promoting the sport was a high priority, the BRCA offered the public the opportunity on the hour to drive Schumacher Superstox and the event received massive media coverage.On track the Reedy style race saw some close racing but from early on it was clear the title would be between Andy Moore and Associated team driver Olly Jefferies. Olly took TQ with his TC6.1 and the top thirty two qualifiers were split off for the remaining touring car drivers to contest the race of champions.

Marek Cerny joins Xray factory team

Marek Cerny joins Xray factory team

Xray have announced the signing of top stock touring car driver Marek Cerny to their factory racing team. Marek has been racing the Xray as a private driver and with the astonishing and constantly improving race results they have rewarded him to join the official Xray factory racing team. Marek had this to say:

I am very lucky and happy to join the Xray factory racing team – the professionalism, dedication and working atmosphere are second to none. I have raced the Xray T3 and T4 already for last two years and both performance and reliability are just perfect for me and recently allowed me to win in some very highly competitive races such as ETS or nationals. I would like to thanks especially to Martin Hudy for all his advices, support and trust in me.

Lemieux & Hebert win Mile High Indoor Champs

This past weekend some of the best on-road drivers in North America met at 5280 Raceway in Denver, Colorado for the second annual Mile High Indoor Championships. Multiple time national champions Paul Lemieux, Keven Hebert, Rick Hohwart, Josh Cyrul, and world champion Ralph Burch to name a few were on hand to test their skills in both modified touring car and modified 1/12th scale. Paul Lemieux was able to control the pace in modified touring car not only setting an untouchable 32 lap pace to TQ, but also all brought home the win for Xray and RC America. Keven Hebert of Team Associated had the field on lock down in modified 1/12th scale with a TQ and the win. Recently Crowned ROAR National Champion Randy Grosse brought home the win in WGT. Drew Ellis of RC America took the TQ and overall win in 13.5 touring car with his Xray T4.  Team driver Mike Haynes was able to TQ and win 13.5 1/12th scale. Joe Trandell was able to take the win in stock 1/12th scale with a very competitive battle in A3 over Mitch Witteman who TQ’d the class. Bill Sydor was able to TQ and win Stock Sedan and Brent Klingforth brought home the win in VTA.

RC Pro Texas Series Rd2 report

RC Pro Texas Series Rd2 report

The RC Pro Texas Series landed in Corpus Christi last weekend for Rd 2 as the state’s fastest continued the points battle at Star Car Raceway. Much like Rd1 at Porter, Team FTW would dominate, monopolizing the podium with 5 class wins. The series now heads to Lubbock for Rd 3 in June, where Team FTW will arrive with the points lead in all three open classes and in Pro4.

Neumann completes perfect EOS season

Back to back Euro Offroad Series Champion Joern Neumann completed the perfect season at the closing race of the second season of the 1:10 Electric Offroad Championship as he maintained his 100% winning record in 4WD Buggy securing his 7th victory with a tone to tone win in Leg 2 of the A-main ahead of Xray’s Martin Bayer and reigning World Champion Ryan Cavalieri.  The second round of 4WD Mains at the Dortmund event also saw the German ace successfully defend his 4WD Short Course Truck title as he took his third win of the season in the class.  Neumann said he was delighted with how the season had gone adding he is already looking forward to next season’s EOS which as one of the first international drivers to sign up for the inaugural series he has seen it gain huge popularity. This weekend’s fourth & final round of the TLR/Spektrum sponsored championship attracting 239 entries.

Neumann wins 2WD at EOS Finale

Joern Neumann has capped off the successful defense of his Euro Offroad Series 2WD Buggy title by claiming overall victory at the season finale in German after he backed up his win in Leg 1 of the final with a second win although this time round the German didn’t have it all his own way with Christopher Krapp leading 7 laps of the 19 lap encounter before a mistake dropped him back to second.  Once again Hupo Honigl worked his way up from 6th on the grid to complete the Top 3.
