Maifield sets Q1 pace in 2WD Buggy

The opening round of 2WD buggy qualifying at the JConcepts Spring Indoor Nationals in Dallas, Texas, saw Ryan Maifield set the early pace around the Mike’s Hobby Shop track with the Associated driver taking Q1 by 1.578 from the TLR of Cody Hollis with Dustin Evans completing the Top 3 as the only other driver to manage 16-laps. It was good opening round of qualifying for Hollis as he took his TLR22-T to the fastest time in the other big class this weekend Mod Truck ahead of his young team-mate Taylor Larsen with Maifield taking his T4.2 to the 3rd fastest time.

Xray Challenge Italy – Announcement

The RCE Roma will host the Xray Challenge Italy on the weekend of the 2nd of June. The race is run in 1/10th touring stock 13.5T blinky, touring modified and 1/18 scale classes and you can find all information about the race on the hosting’s club website by clicking here.

JConcepts Spring Indoor Nats underway in Dallas

Round 2 of the JConcepts Indoor National Series got underway in Dallas, Texas, today with drivers taking advantage of a day of open practice at Mike’s Hobby Shop which plays host to the ‘Spring Indoor Nationals’ for a second year at its impressive and extremely large facility. With entries up on last year, the event has also attracted a much more competitive field setting the stage for an exciting weekend of racing which is set to get underway properly tomorrow with the first of three rounds of qualifying.

2013 JConcepts Clash – Announcement

For 2013 the JConcepts Clash returns Indoors to the Flowood Indoor R/C park in Flowood, Mississippi, on the weekend of September 6-8, 2013. A large building and track operated by super promoter Bubba Barham equals big-time Clash action. The 7th annual event will take place on a newly built indoor race course at the Flowood R/C park and will be specifically built for this annual event. Racers such as Ryan Maifield, Ryan Cavalieri, Jared Tebo, Dustin Evans, Lee Martin, JR Mitch, Steven Hartson, Tanner Denney, Brent Thielke, Jorn Neumann, Hupo Honigl, Barry Pettit, Billy Easton, Ryan Eckert, Jason Ruona and Paul Wynn have always made racing fast and exciting at the Clash throughout the years. Baker & Olson win at JBRL Rd2

San Diego RC Raceway played host to the JBRL Round 2 this past weekend. A brand new track layout was put in and made the race an even playing field for all and Tekno RC made their presence known. In the 1/8 buggy class, the Tekno RC EB48 swept the podium and 4th place. Barry Baker finished 1st, followed by Pres Ilog in 2nd, Josh Bertrand in 3rd, and Chad Panek in 4th. In the Pro4 Short Course class Tekno RC again dominated the podium. Matthew Olson from MIP running Tekno RC driveshafts came in 1st place followed by Tekno RC’s Barry Baker and Chad Panek to round out the top 3 spots. Rudy Rico and his SCT410 would finish in 5th place. There were more SCT410’s in the top 5 and in the A Main than any other truck.

Win for Bloomfield at BRCA 2wd Nats Rd1

Vampire Racing’s Darren Bloomfield was on fire at the recent first round of the 2013 BRCA electric off-road nationals. He TQ’d the rain affected 2WD race on Saturday with his Vampire Racing-powered TLR 22 buggy. Darren was able to take a clean win in A final one and two handing him the day’s win in front of Schumacher Racing’s Simon Moss and Team Associated’s Neil Cragg. Darren used Vampire Racing’s new Type AB+ V2 brushless motors, the SR1+ speed controller and Vampire Racing’s latest 2013 spec LiPo batteries to win in style.

Yannick Aigoin double at French EP Nats Rd2

Last weekend the LVDM Club organised the 2nd round of the French 1/10th EP buggy nationals. In the 2wd class it would be Associated/Orion driver Yannick Aigoin that would take the overall victory, with wins in the first 2 legs to take home the victory ahead of Antoine Rossetti in 2nd for Durango and Alexandre Desbrosses 3rd for X-Factory. In the 4wd class Yannick would TQ and win again to complete the perfect weekend ahead of Xray driver Lorenzo Crolla in 2nd and Antoine Rossetti in 3rd.

Andy Moore wins Gloucester Quays Grand Prix

Organised by the touring car section of the BRCA the Gloucester Quays Grand Prix took place at the weekend and saw victory in the race of champions section for Hot Bodies driver Andy Moore. The grand prix was held in a shopping centre and due to its high profile nature promoting the sport was a high priority, the BRCA offered the public the opportunity on the hour to drive Schumacher Superstox and the event received massive media coverage.On track the Reedy style race saw some close racing but from early on it was clear the title would be between Andy Moore and Associated team driver Olly Jefferies. Olly took TQ with his TC6.1 and the top thirty two qualifiers were split off for the remaining touring car drivers to contest the race of champions.
